Good grief! This man created the greatest dynasty in the history of college sports (if not all sports,) give him credit. Undoubtedly the greatest basketball coach of all time.

No one is disputing his ability as a coach and the fact that he did something that is truly unique in the annals of college sports. What is being suggested is that now that he is gone there needs to be an objective examination of the circumstances behind the sudden rise to continued prominence of UCLA. Focus on Sam Gilbert and some of the comments that have been attributed to Bill Walton and others in that regard.

Oh, so wooden didnt know gilbert payed for 10 championships in 12 years? Wooden didnt know anything about all the money or anything? All americans sat the bench for four years to get paid and he as a supposed brilliant man didnt put it together? He knew about it. Whether he got caught or not doesnt matter when it comes to INTEGRITY!!! So yes he and calipari and calvin sampson and roy williams and whoever cheated!!! Dont get me wrong, if GM got caught cheating I hope they kick his but out of town. I cant stand a cheater. Especialy someone who does it and denies it to there death!!! Im not saying he wasnt a nice person or whatever. I just dont want awards named after someone like that. Im sure he was a great coach but we will never know!!!
