I don't know how they handle the season tickets that weren't sold last year and aren't subject to renewal, but at least get on a waiting list if that's all they will let you do now.

While you're talking to the ticket office, pledge what you can to SASO. The money is earmarked to provide a college education to someone who might not be able to get that education any other way.

For a first hand look at what that can mean, think for a moment about Ramon Clemente. He grew up in Queens in absolute poverty on some rough streets. Without scholarship money, what were his possibilities in life? With scholarship money, he's a college graduate and a great example for kids facing adversity.

If you don't get your tickets now or at least get in line for tickets now, I think they could be real hard to buy next year and probably the year after that. NOW is your best opportunity for several years.

If you want season tickets you will have to pay SASO. Depending on the seats (and how many) you want that are open will dictate your required SASO contribution. The minimum SASO contribution ($200) will allow you to have the opportunity to buy 2 tickets in the upper tier.

There are a few non-SASO donation required seats in the very upper portion (last row), but they are only behind the goals, so the view isn't very good. I do agree that donating to SASO is a good thing if you can.

The trick is to donate NOW to SASO before you even get tickets, because priority on tickets are allocated based on how much you have contributed to SASO.

So if there are 2 people that have never had season tickets, and both want some, priority will go to the person that has contributed to SASO. If both have, priority will go to the one that has paid the most.

Please verify that with the SASO office, and correct me if I am wrong.

renewed mine and requested an increase from my six seats last year, to eight this year... hopefully they can fulfill my request.


i challenge everyone to do two things:

1) increase their saso donation to the 110% level

2) consider wsu athletics in their estate plans. i just finalized a gift to endow a basketball scholarship

Oh you can count that my Trust will have a good sized gift to the Shox. And my son who is the only one to inherit will be more than fine with it. He is as big a fan as his Dad.

I joined the 110% club and just bumped it up to a nice round number instead of doing the math. Then I got a call from SASO asking if I had intended to renew my pledge and also pledge the additional round number.

I figured that was a really nice courtesy call, so I told them not to worry about refunding my accidentally doubled contribution. I feel good about that. When I see the athletes that get introduced at basketball games, I'm helping those kids get a college education.

The basketball players are the obvious examples, but look at other sports and realize how many people are getting an education who may have never had that opportunity without scholarship money. Someone's got to pay for it and I'm glad I can help, even though my contributions aren't substantial.

Scholarships are also provided by purchasing a Shocker tag for your vehicles. For $35.00 contribution to the University you not only show your support by displaying your tag, but you also provide scholarships.

As of today, the AD said that there are only a couple hundred or so season tickets left to sell . . . get 'em while you can!
