May God's grace and love comfort all those broken hearts in this time of tragedy. I certainly feel for Mark as well.....I know this tears at his very existence.

This may sound coarse but I think I feel more sorrow for the 50 year old woman driving the SUV that died in the other vehicle.
I guess it is a statement on society when every article mourns the loss of a basketball player and there is no mention of the other victim.
Plus a fund raiser to help the family of the player.
Just a sad situation in every aspect."Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media,
which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

ShockerKhan,
I wouldn't say that people, in general, feel less empathy for the other victim or their family in this tragedy at all. We are simply made aware of this young man because of his notoriety as a basketball player. His story reaches and affects more people and will be of interest nationally. This is not a value statement by society imo. Just a case of one person being in the public eye and one that is not.
However, I agree with you that this is a sad situation in every aspect.
