Not really sure why you care, but it is 3-4.

2-1 at home. 0-3 in the Rental Ranch and 1-0 in St. Louis.

Looking here, they were 0-2 in 2007-08, 1-2 in 2008-09, and 1-1 in 2009-10. So that makes Marshall 2-5 against Altman. I don't think they've played prior to these games.

Not sure it's really comparing apples to apples anyway. Marshall took over a weak team that needed rebuilding. Marshall is likely going to start off 4-0 vs whoever the new guys is.

Creighton Altman; A Divorce made in Arkansas.

This is a good article written by Tom Shatel, sports editor at OWH.

Are there any coaches who have backed out on a job move after a few days, and it's worked out? It's been a rough couple years for Donovan and Altman, Rich Rodriguez ran off anyway the next year, and in the couple other cases I remember (namely Cremins) it seems like that moment of indecisiveness doomed them.

I think Jack Hartman did fine after his change of heart, but that was so long ago I can't really remember the details.

                  Two million per?

                    Second thoughts

Actually, a guy named Gregg Marshall started to take the job at Charleston, then changed his mind -- I believe he's done okay since then, and I expect him to continue to do better still.

Omaha TV station is reporting McDermott accepted a 10 year $9mm contract to coach Creighton. He had an $800,000 buyout at ISU.

"Action 3 in Omaha is reporting that Creighton has hired Iowa State head coach Greg McDermott to the be the new head coach of Creighton.

The deal is worth $10 million over 9 seasons."

                      EDIT http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/...creighton.html

Some ISU fans aren't sorry to see him go.

I'm pretty sure 4 years ago UNI bumped him up to around $400 per year to try to keep him. He took $700 per year from ISU a couple of weeks later.

CU fans are not overjoyed. :yahoo:

I don't think it is that bad of hire.

I was thinking the same thing....I dont recall all the details or if he actually did the press conference ..I dont think he did. I think he accepted the job went back to Winthrop to tell his team before the formal announcement and thats when he changed his mind...Im not 100% though
1/16/2010 on the "Screw at the Q" HCGM... " Ive never seen a foul parade like that...If you would of let me know it was going to be a foul parade I would of brought a different team" .... "dont talk to me about fouls....Ive got to go back and look at some tape... I have some thoughts but I need to look at the tape and then I will have something very strong to say"

Haha, that is some funny stuff. Jacobson to Iowa State now? Or Jacobson to Oregon in 2 years after Altman gets fired?

Creighton could have spent a couple weeks interviewing and bringing in candidates from all over the country to look at their rented Mecca. They could have gotten a nice up-and-comer.

Instead, they make a snap decision to hire UNI's coach, who ran off so many players at ISU he couldn't get it done.

Rasmussen is going to hang for this one in a few years.

...though it will be fun to see Chewbacca back in The Chuck.

Surprising but I guess it’s not that surprising in retrospect.
