Oregon is a better than average job...new facility, a PAC10 that is down where you can make some pretty quick noise. I just don't think it was a great year for hiring coaches...of all the open gigs, who made a splash? Depaul...maybe?

I dislike Creighton as much as the next fan, but he was a necessary evil for the Valley. We need the top tier MVC coaches to continue to stay in the conference to maintain stability and give the conference a better shot of being a top tier non-BCS conference year-in and year-out.

"Who's Next in Line for the Jay's?"

One name mentioned in the article that I hadn't seen before is Steve McCain. He has roots In Nebraska. McKenna has to be the front runner, but they can throw some money around.

"According to IRS forms filed by Creighton from 2005, 2006 and 2007, Altman's salary in those years was $828,965; $881,017; and $1,130,250. "

I hate Dana and have no hard feelings about him leaving. Except for the fact that I was looking forward to going to Omaha and kicking his ass this year. Oh well, guess we will have to do it to scum without him.

I hate Oregon too so its a good fit. I can still cheer against him.

The MVC needs an upper-tier Creighton as much as it needs an upper-tier WSU. Even if their arena is full of Jayskers, losing that fan base is not a good thing. Was Altman losing that program? Who knows. But I do hope they hire a good coach that will keep them between 2nd and 4th in the league.

I hope they hire Mike Cohen and 3 of his clones to 10 + year contracts.

All the coaches mentioned in the OWH article would be decent hires, except possibly Hinson.

In order of probability in my opinion:

                  Sutton
                  Theus
                  McClain
McKenna (an intra-league move seems unlikely to me, though not impossible)
                  McDermott
Hinson (Damaged MVC goods, from CU's place in the league)

                  In order of desirability:

                  McKenna
                  Sutton
                  Theus
                  McDermott
                  McClain
                  Hinson

No, it isn't. The Valley doesn't need that level of whinyness entrinched into the system. Altman and CU get preferential treatment and hopefully with the changing of the guard that BS can end.

How about Majerus? He seems to like the MVC...

I know this was meant as a pejorative, but the Blue Birdies could do worse.

I am one of the few on this fine forum, who does not hold ill will toward Coach Eck.

As Coach Parcell's likes to say, "There are two sides to that pancake."
"Prediction is very difficult, especially if it is about the future."

                            Have to love Creighton fans.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

They must really like him if his contract is 7 years & $2 million per season.
