I won't make any specific predictions other than I think we win the Valley (by how much I don't know) and we go to the Big Dance. The rest will be interesting to find out...

      Enid paper article.

.... Smith was known for his hard work at NOC Enid as he made the transition of being an inside player at Oklahoma City Southeast High School to an effective 3-point shooter (40 percent) with the Jets.

“He turned himself into a good player with a lot of hard work,’’ said Jets head coach Greg Shamburg. “Anytime a guy makes a transition from inside to outside, you never know how the progression is going to go. He spent a lot of time shooting in the gym and in the summer.’’

Smith chose the Shockers over Illinois State, Murray State, Southern Illinois and California.
“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Coach could have been content with the roster we had coming back and we could have made a run at the valley and made the NCAA. But hes not sitting back. hes being proactive.. I think he not only wants to get to the NCAA but win some games in it

The rivals page lists him at 6'5" (not 6'4") and the Enid article says "Smith was known for his hard work at NOC Enid as he made the transition of being an inside player at Oklahoma City Southeast High School to an effective 3-point shooter (40 percent) with the Jets."

So BradleyFans got his height and position wrong based on links they themselves provided. Amusing.
The announcement at http://www.goshockers.com/ViewArticl...CLID=204933142 also lists Ben as a 6'4" Forward.

can't say we're young anymore. 4 seniors and 5 juniors on the roster. When was the last time we had a full team with no redshirts?

That's a good question, but I am not certain the '10-'11 team roster will end the streak, either.

That Jr. class is starting to look pretty salty. We do need to see how Ragland and Smith adjust to D1 ball before getting too excited. If they make the adjustmet like Hannah did - go ahead and get excited. If they make the adjustment like Sampay did - that would also be exciting, but not in a good way.
From all the reports, it looks like Smith has one heck of a work ethic. Someone commented on watching Hatch and Smith against each other in practice. If Smith shares (or develops) some of Hatch's attitude about how the game should be played, they may not be able to practice against each other for fear of the wear and tear they'd put on each other over the course of a season.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I'm very tired as I have been working many long hours for the past month with more to go. Tell me if I have this right or wrong, please.

Next year in March 2011 we will have at least 4 scholarships available (Hatch, Ellis, Durley and Blair)
The following year in March 2012 we will have five available (Ragland, Smith, Murray, Kyles and Stutz)

As I said, if I am wrong, please correct. That's a lot of bodies moving out in a two year period.

We have 3 available for 2011 because Wessel has already committed. It is a lot of turnover though.

Strange. I think a 6'5" guard could cause match-up problems which a 6'5" forward (even at the 3 position) would not necessarily create.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.
