I would like to think in a couple of years we are saying " Kenny who?" Not because he didn't do well later but just the fact that the young man that took his scholarship did so much more to elevate our program.

Kenny seems gifted enough to go to a high major program. Tons of upside to him. However just because he might end up at a high major program doesn't mean he left for greener pastures. Would you rather be playing at WSU competiting for a MVC championship and making to NCAA's or playing at lower-tier BCS school???
Best of luck to him...I hope to see his game and career take off!!! :clap:FINAL FOURS:

I'm already saying Kenny Who? He can't shoot, and is not motivated. Not here either. Let's move on."Two dribbles and a ham sandwich" ~ Gregg Marshall
Wichita State, a team long on grit, made everything it shot. ~ Normal, Ill. newspaper 2/19/13

Thanks Fredster...good simple post. He had issues on the dribble as well. I am quite sure Kenny is fine young man, not a unique quality in college basketball. Let's face it Division I college basketball recruiting isn't an exact science. Although Kenny passed the eye test of the coaching staff; his great physique, athletisism, potential & basketball brain just aren't going to balance into a better than average basketball player...ever. The coaches made a mistake. No big deal. Let's let it go and move on as Fredster sayed. Kenny would have been another Duke Tshomba, Gal Mekel, Keith Bonds, Adam Liberty, A.J. Hawkins and Calvin Walls. All were gifted athletes, but lacked the required wiring to put it all together to meet the expectations of the masses.

Let’s see, Kenny was a Rivals top 100 recruit and received a lot of high caliber attention. Heck, there were 16 pages on Shockernet of gushing about how great he was going to be.
Then there’s Reggie Chamberlin who was a first team All Jayhawk performer.
Both players signed up for HCGM’s sale pitch. Both players have left the program for reasons that we will never fully know. The Shocker faithful now pronounce them as less than worthy of our program. Has anyone considered that the coaching staff may be in a position to shoulder some of the blame? Right now, I see a pattern of sign and discard. I would rather see sign and work with players to achieve the expectations. It seems that the coaching staff would rather jet around and impress the next batch of “meat” and see what happens.
I hate to be throwing negative ideas out there about the coaching staff, but it irritates me when the players are thrown under the bus and the coaches go without question.

Yeah I see how the coaching staff ran ol' Gabe Blair out of the program. I have no idea where you are coming from with remarks like that. KM was out of his element in that he had no outside shot, which was only mentioned a dozen times before he even showed up and at least that many more times after we got to see him in person. People leave programs for alot of reasons. Some people don't buy what the coaching staff is selling and others just don't want to put forth the effort. I don't see where anyone is throwing KM under the bus and most went the extra mile to wish him success in his next phase of his life. I wish him all the luck in the world because most kids need it, but this is one of those times when it just didn't work out and not because of a bunch of sob's on the coaching staff.

With this staff, it seems about 1 year.
No player that is a part of this program is treated like "meat".
Scholarships like Relationships and Jobs are a Two-Way street. This staff is Passionate and Committed to Excellence and they do everything possible to recruit kids who are the same way. But when one-side of the relationship isn't passionate or committed, then you have to part ways."Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should accomplish with your ability."

I hope he ends up in the NBA. Of the many schools he could have ended up at, he picked ours because the illustrious coach that we like and hope to hang on to wanted him. It is a damn good thing to pick our school and I hope many more good prospects do. Go Kenny. Come back and see us someday.

Some times things just don't work out and it's best for every one involved to part ways. The maturity (or lack) of 18 year olds can have a lot to do with that. Sometimes an extra year or two for a player can be a major change.
That doesn't mean it's the fault of the player or the coach. There doesn't have to be someone you can point a finger at for every bad thing that happens. Sometimes bad things just happen.
In our recent memory, Durley stuck it out and that worked. Calvin Walls left and that worked for him. Denzel Bowles changed schools and became a total stud at his new school after totally bombing at aTm.
Different things work different ways for different players. I question Kenny's work ethic at this stage of his basketball career. That is no indicator that he won't correct that in the future - and I wish him the best in understanding just how difficult it is to switch from HS to D1 ball. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
