It's not insecurity, many know the reasons why this happened, and it's going to be talked about on a message board.

Okay, I'll buy it. I'm really going to miss yelling way to go KENN-AY though.

Wish him the best in the future, but good points were made. He did not produce on the court like he was 'advertised' to. Maybe he would in a couple of years, but it is needed right away.

I guess in a cut-throat world of D1 college basketball I understand what you are saying. I will say I think there are some things about this that are not right, that multiple people have responsibility to ensure the success of the program and its student athletes, and for one of the few times, perhaps the first time, I am frustrated with how THIS staff handled a situation.

I won't say anything more publicly on the issue except to wish Kenny and his family the very best and I hope for a hugely successful career for KJ, where ever he ends up.

What was done wrong by the staff? I don't ask because I necessarily disagree, I just want to know your opinion. Or those of others who share it.

I don't know anything, but I would bet that we are dealing with a situation in which a kid with lots of upside and potential, that wanted to be a Shocker, was asked to leave when he didn't fulfill that potential as a freshman. I think KM wanted to be in whatever roll was asked of him, but was told that there was no place for him on this team based on his performance. I could be entirely incorrect, but that's my bet based on what I've read/heard from POSTERS on THIS SITE.

I felt that Johnny Coy got a similar raw deal but for different reasons.

                        And you would be wrong.

HCGM and his staff will not accept a player who they have to beg to compete and give maximum effort.

There is a common denominator in every scholarship player transferring out the last 3 years.

Like I stated in the previous post, "I don't know anything."

While what you are saying may be the truth, Johnny felt differently about it. He was a 19 year old that was kinda caught in the middle of expectations of two million-aire coaches.

I believe that Kenny did not get a fair shake. Yes, playing time is earned in practice and we do not have a window into that world. However, there were plenty of times during games when the guys ahead of Kenny were playing very poorly that he could have, and should have, been given court time. Even when Kenny did get on the court, he was on such a short leash that he was too afraid to do anything for fear of being pulled out. Not a situation conducive to building confidence and developing a player. If Kenny chose to leave the program, more power to him for making a difficult decision. If he was asked/forced to leave, I think that will get out and cause the program harm in the long run. Either way, I wish Kenny the best of luck wherever he winds up playing.

Some guys can deal with the short leash, some cannot. It's not fair, perhaps, but this world is tough, and you either EARN it in the eyes of the coach or you do not, How you critique yourself is meaningless.
