  • Kenny Manigault leaving

This is in another thread, but deserves its own - and a link

WICHITA, KAN. ? Kenny Manigault, a 6-foot-4 freshman guard, has decided to leave the Wichita State University men's basketball program at the end of the school year, WSU head coach Gregg Marshall announced today.

Tnaks to 150964Shox for picking this up first
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I wish we would get to a point where this did not happen every year.

I wish we'd get to the point that this did not happen with mega-talented and extremely personable and well representing young men like Kenny.

I will miss him, wish him well and follow his career with great interest.

I hope he is wildly successful.

I was really hoping to see him displaying his athletic abilities some day on the court for WSU.

I wish him the best. Hope things work out for him.

Kenny is a class act indeed and I wish him the very best in all that he does.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Sorry to see him go, what little I saw of him I thought he was very skilled. Wish him good luck.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

This has been bantered about for weeks and not much of a surprise.

Actually, it's been expected and the best move for both parties.

Kenny needs to get back to Carolina hopefully find a program which is better suited for his abilities.

If you haven't noticed, there will be no true Frosh on this team for 2010/11.

And if you haven't figured out what the direction and strategy is for this program, well, you didn't pay attention in school either. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

There was a vibe missing from Kenny from day one. All I heard was he would be a gifted, physical point guard the Valley isn't used to seeing at that position. I know about him being a great kid. I get that, but my fear after being here last summer and playing his freshman year was he would turn out to be another AE (another great kid)...great potential upside, but at the end of the day an underachiever.

                          Frosh

Don't speak so quickly about the absence of true freshmen, Ref. Certainly possible, and it's obvious that Marshall likes to give his guys a chance to develop before throwing them into the line of fire -- but let's see who replaces Manigault.

I hate losing Kenny, but losing Earl Grant is a far greater loss. That is a really big deal.
