  • Rags Signs

Joe Ragland signed his National LOI today.

WICHITA, Kan. ? Joe Ragland, a 6-foot-0 point guard from West Springfield, Mass., has signed a National-Letter-of-Intent to play basketball at Wichita State University, Head Coach Gregg Marshall announced today.

Great to have Joe aboard. Plus that's a pretty good indication that HCGM is not going anywhere.

Nobody else? I though some said that there were 2-3 players leaving?

The article did say at the end that:

Ragland is WSU’s first signee of the Spring, 2010, signing period.
Sort of leaves the door open or maybe implies more to come, then again may not mean anything at all.

I've heard nothing about any player movement other than Mason Felter might leave, but since he is a walk-on that doesn't free up a schollie.

The Spring signing period goes through May 19th I believe so still time for someting to happen -- or not.

I'm starting to think that everyone is coming back. I think there is at least reason to be optimistic about that.

It could be that Marshall can't find the player he wants and that's why there are no other commitments or signings. I know it's still early, but if someone is leaving and Marshall had found "the right guy", it's likely we would have heard something by now.

I agree it's early. There was speculation but it was May before we knew Preadom was leaving.

I think Ragland will do a great job for us! He and Demetric will be a great 1-2 punch at the point. I don't know who will be 1 or 2, but just having the options is great.

            Welcome Joseph!

              Is it November yet? ;-)

I'm excited for next season. Welcome aboard Joe. :cowbell: :bball_spin:

                Great day in Shockerville!
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

I can also see both on the floor at the same time with Murry sliding over to play some 3. DW's jump shot was really coming on at the end of the season.

I think it will be a good thing if all the players come back. I look forward to seeing Ragland play and he seems to be good addition for the Shox.

Sounds like both D-Will and Joe are both versatile enough to play either the 1 or the 2. Gives HCGM a lot of options to mix and match depending on the opponent.

I hope everybody comes back, if so we are going to be deep everywhere from the point guard through center.

If Toure becomes an All American next year, we will be a great team. Look for GM to make the definitive statement that he is staying, then we will see if anyone else is coming and going. I predict more change...good change for the program! :yahoo:

Although it's early, I agree that it would be great for all of our scholarship guys to stay. They all have tremendous potential and even the Freshmen and redshirt guys deserve another year to prove their worth.

I guess this seals the deal with Kenny M. He'll leave, too bad, I had such high hopes for him. IMO
