Here is some motivation for the Shockers. Lunardi has Northern Iowa winning the Valley with no mention of the Shockers or any other team entering the field of 64. What a joke!!!

Lunardi is a moron who clearly did absolutely no research.

Aren't we supposed to have a field of 96 anyway?

These guys won't give us the time of day until we start knocking off some name teams. The good news is, we will have plenty of opportunities next season.

Can we compare Lunatic's April 2009 Bracketology to the 2010 field? It'll probably be a good laugh.

Like Royal said, all this is is dirty lazy grub work that Lunatic did simply based on this year's tournament. It requires zero skill and no knowledge of college basketball.
        Deuces Valley.
        ... No really, deuces.

He doesn't think losing 7'1" Eglesider isn't going to hurt their team .. huh!!!

I think Jake Koch is going to be better than his brother if he can find his brother's toughness.

UNI will be down, but as much as I'd like to count them back in the bottom half of the league, where they ABSOLUTELY belong, not just yet.

By the looks of the postseason he might already be better. He will battle MSU for 2nd in the Valley.

Alternatively, he looked better than his brother because his brother was getting the full attention of every coaching staff they faced as the Valley POY, and Jake wasn't getting much game prep thrown his way.

He certainly started playing much better late in the season and took advantage of other teams having to focus on his brother, Egleseder, and O'Rear based on their performance throughout the year. Nonetheless, he will have to show that he can do it when he is the focal point of defenses before I'll tout him as better than what he is replacing.

Actually maybe Lunardi has thought this through more than you think.

Since he is assuming a 65 team field, he is also assuming that the Valley will once again be a one bid league (just like the past 3 years).

If the Valley is a one bid league then who would you pick to win Arch Madness in St. Louis? WSU who has NEVER won it or UNI who seems to do very well there?

If Lunardi did enough research to know that, I would be stunned.

Do you pick the #1 team who loses their top 3 players, including their starting interior, league POY and post-season hero, or the #2 who returns all but one (and already broke one long streak of not making the championship game)?

I stand by my original assertion.

I still think that UNI will win the valley next year. But that is just my pessimistic side.

You all need to remember that Lunardi has no basketball mind. He's not an analyst of the game. He's a systems analyst that understands a little math, and only predicts what the selection committee will do. The only "accurate" bracket that he projects is his final one before the committee releases their version. And by that point, anybody who put in a couple hours worth of work could trim the field, and probably get within just a couple of misses.

In other words, he has no idea. At least he's man enough to prognosticate though.

If we're a 1-bid league, and UNI gets the bid, I highly doubt they're gonna be a 9 seed. Losing all those players and dropping 1 seed from last year? Doubt it.

north carolina will be alot better than a 12 seed too. those young'ins started figuring it out in the NIT and then with another good class coming in, dont expect them to be down long.

Well, his 96-team projection is out and he still only has three Valley teams making it. There is UNI as a 9-seed, WSU as a 18-seed and Missouri State as a 19-seed. He doesn't appear to have much respect for WSU.
