Next year's schedule is shaping up as a big improvement over this past year. Now we need to take advantage of the opportunity and build a really nice RPI. -
That's a tough set of matchups for the MVC.
BYU at Creighton - BYU
Drake at Colorado State - CSU
New Mexico at Southern Illinois - UNM
UNLV at Illinois State - UNLV
Indiana State at Wyoming - ISU
UNI at TCU - ?
Utah at Bradley - BU
Wichita St. at San Diego St. - ?
Evansville at Air Force - AF
Two games where we might be favored.
Two that are pick-ems.

That's a solid game for next year. SDSU doesn't lost much from their team and should easily be a top 50 RPI game. I sure hope the home and road teams don't just alternate every year because if that's the case we got screwed in this deal and will never get a matchup with BYU, New Mexico or UNLV.Originally posted by RoyalShockComment

Can someone explain to me how that if we finished 2nd and are pre-season #1 or #2 next year, why do we not get BYU, UNM, or UNLV? Its seems like they put our best teams against lower MW teams. I see UNI has TCU. I thought the point was to match the best against the best?Comment

They determine the team who is omitted (MSU next year) based on league record 2 years prior, so perhaps that is also the main consideration for matchups.Originally posted by MadDogComment

When you read the press release it appears that this was a 4 year deal that the MVC and MWC signed up for. The press release says that in 2009 and 2010 that no team in the challenge will play more than one home game or more than one road game. The thing that sucks is that the five of the six best teams (New Mexico, UNI, BYU, UNLV and WSU) were all home teams last year so they have to be road teams next year. We actually got the best possible draw that we could get with SDSU. The press release states that the rotation will start over again for 2011 and 2012 so hopefully they will split up the better teams so that there can be more attractive matchups in the future.Comment
