I thought West Virginia was kind of lame against Duke. Their lack of defense was something that was obvious, especially against the perimeter, and Duke punished them for it.

I dunno, I guess I was just expecting West Virginia to be better than they were.

Butler victory = all kinds of awesomeness

I've got my pool wrapped up. Picking Duke to beat W Va in the Final 4 put me in the lead. The only brackets close enough to challenge me in the finals have KU as the NC. I've got Duke, but I sure didn't have Butler in the game.

I haven't watched a finals of the NCAA's in a very long time, but I'm watching tonight. I expect a potential record TV audience for the game. Then I want to hear the spin from CBS and ESPN about how "mid-majors" getting past a couple of rounds ruins the tournament.

I bet we don't hear a single word about how the Big Least's performance in the dance is proof that they had too many bids. If a couple of mid-majors lose early when they had the better seed (***cough*** -Creighton - ***cough***), that stuff always gets brought up as justification to reduce the number of bids for their conferences and "conferences like that".

I think it's time to take a look at the Big Leat's performance in the dance and reduce the number of bids for them and other conferences like that.

Duke and Butler were ranked #3 and #8 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll at the end of the season. This isn't Cinderella vs Step Mom and Daughters. It's not David vs. Goliath and I don't know why people are playing it off like that. Butler should never have been a 5 seed. Actually, I nearly forgot this game was being played tonight since I barely care about either team. But, since I hate Duke with a passion and it'll be funny to see the experts try and play off a team from the crappy Horizon League win the National Title, I'll watch and root for Butler. It'll be nice to have a NC team not from a Big-6 conference.
