It'll be interesting to see if UH's new AD can land Gillispie (whom he worked with at UTEP).

I think Jacobson will be gone this year. He will get a BCS offer. They are only paying him about $300k at UNI. He will get an offer for 1.2 to 1.5 at a larger school, and like any coach would do, he will accept it because his family comes first.

Billy Clyde could do really well at UH.

He could hide a little in Houston and his "lifestyle" choices wouldn't be such a big deal.

Jacobsen just qualified for $750K - $1 mill per year.

To make things worse for UNI, the state is threatening to cut off $4 mill out of what they pay to the athletic department at UNI. That's 40% of UNI's athletic budget.

The prevailing thought is that UNI is going to be "asked" to provide a timetable to have athletics self-supporting and the time frame for losing the $4 mill in state money is probably in the 4-year range or so.
The posting on the net is surely just to satisfy either their own search criteria or just covering their butts when they hire their new coach and someone tries to sue them for not giving EVERYONE an EQUAL opportunity.

They will offer him a raise since they can now count on a nice NCAA tourney distribution from the MVC for the next six years. I would expect a raise in the $200k territory to bring him up around $500k. And seeing what's happened to McDermott, Keno Davis and Lickliter, I bet he will think twice before making a jump.

So far, the only "mid-major" coaches to not fail at the next level (at least from what I've seen) are ones who didn't walk into a rebuilding job. (Weber, Painter, Turgeon)

But will he take it? I believe Mark Few to be a unique individual, not necessarily driven by the all mighty dollar. I doubt Oregon would offer if they weren't about 99.99999999% sure he'd take it though.

Interesting....I have read the book on Gonzaga (literally). Their next hire will be intriguing to say the least (whenever it happens).

Oregon has a great campus (think animal house) a rabid fan base and lots of money. If Few does not go then he will be at Gonzaga forever. WOW 3 mill thats alot of money.

Few is also an Oregon alum, for whatever that is worth.

Looks like Iowa is going to name Siena's coach (Fran McCaffery) as their next men's basketball head coach.

Iowa fans are just LOVING this hire LOL. They are a tad disappointed because they were just so SURE that someone like Bruce Pearl would be their next coach.

Seton Hall to name Kevin Willard of Iona head coach. He turned a 2-28 team into a 21-10 team in 3 years.

Al Skinner is out at Boston College.

Boston College and basketball coach Al Skinner have agreed to part ways, athletic director Gene DeFilippo told ESPN.com's Andy Katz on Tuesday.

I believe WSU was recruiting Reggie Jackson when he was in high school in Colorado.

He is a junior next year at BC i believe.
