      Brian Gregory (Dayton)
      Doug Wojcik (Tulsa)

      Possible:
      Keno Davis (Providence)
Ben Jacobson (Northern Iowa) although I doubt Hawkeye fans would be happy about BJ Ball. They seem to think they are attractive to the Ben Howlands and Bruce Pearls of the world.

Gregg Marshall started at Belmont Abbey, what do you think their chances are of landing him?

BTW, Hawkeyes are talking about landing Scott Drew how do you like them apples?

per the article linked regarding pearl

Bruce Pearl (Tennessee) -- Iowa athletics director Gary Barta reached out to Pearl the last time, and Pearl used that to get a nice raise. The former Iowa assistant seems happy with the Volunteers, and it would take a lot of money to pry him away. Still, if Barta wants to hit a grand slam...

            Family ties
the AD did go after pearl once before.

Iowa also had several coaches’ representatives contact the school directly to heighten interest. Among those include Southern Illinois’ Chris Lowery, current Wichita State Coach Gregg Marshall, current Indiana Coach Tom Crean and Northwestern (La.) State Coach Mike McConathy.
If Gregg's "people" have reached out to Iowa it would be the same reason Pearl talked to them. Leverage for a new contract.

Yep. Look at some of the names on that list--many of them would never leave their current gig for Iowa. I mean, would you leave Kentucky for Iowa (listed in the article after the above quote)? Tom Crean wouldn't leave Indiana for Iowa would he? Not likely. I think HCGM's name is on there becaue of exactly what WU Shizzle says-- contract negotiations here. There's far more chance for immediate success here next year than Iowa. Iowa would be nice in a few years when you build up recruits again, but I don't see them being a Big 10 powerhouse next year.

That whole article is about the last coaching search. Even the title says "based on the past". Therefore, Marshall's "people" contacted Iowa 3 years ago....not this year.

Heard on the radio, Turg, Few and Carlissimo are the names being floated for Oregon.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

That makes a heck of a lot more sense. The article is poorly written and goes back and forth between then and now.

The likely reason for some many big name coaches on the iowa wish list, is that they have a top notch doctor program. many of their alums are medical doctors. tons of money floating around with boosters.

their football coach is a top 15 paid coach. 4.3 million if my memory serves me correctly...

Maybe we should have a poll on how many div-1 coaches get fired by the end of April? by the end of May?
