  • Turgeon

Anyone think his behavior in the game tonight was out of line. I have gotten a lot of calls/texts from KU fans talking about what a douchbag "our old coach" is. Well I have to remind him he is a former player of KU. was tonight when he got on the floor to try to break up the little scuffle.

Here is how I see it, he was defending his players, thats all I could ask for as player in a coach. There was nothing wrong or haneous about it. I would like Gregg to do the same, to stand up for his players. The KU fans need to suck it up and realize that Turgeon was fiesty player and a fiesty coach.

Sorry if this thread isn't warranted, its late at night and I am mad about some things going on in my life. Later haters.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

Didn't see his behavior as being out of line at all, but still couldn't solve a zone defense. :)

I did not think he was out of line at all. Sherron Collins was running his mouth like crazy and all Turg did was say "Come on Sherron" to him. Collins is a great player but he's a punk out there on the court.

I thought Sheron Collins was a little punk, Turg was just defending his player, which i have no problem with.

Not only was he running his mouth, he was effectively running it right in the Texas A&M time out huddle.

Sherron Collins was doing what a good team leader should, that is, getting in the heads of the aTm players. It appeared he even got into the head of their coach. Turgeon is very emotional and was trying to defend his guys. Too bad for aTm that point in the game was about when KU went from 5 down to up 15. It worked. That said, who wouldn't have liked to see Turgeon display some of that passion when he coached at WSU?

Some players can push that to the limit without getting T'ed up or tossed. Collins is a master at it and one of the toughest players in the country. Turgeon and his players fell into Collins' trap.

Actually Turgeon did pretty much the same thing while at WSU. Can't remember which game it was in Koch Arena. But if memory serves our player got fouled hard or something? There appeared it could escalate into a fight pretty fast and Turgeon went running out to the floor and shoved the opposing player while pulling his own player back. Meanwhile he was being pretty verbal. I thnk it may have been Matty B...someone else may have a better memory of the incident though. It was nothing more than Turgeon protecting his player.

IMO, he always showed 'passion' when he coached here.

what I meant was that he was spending a lot of time stirring up trouble last night. you could tell he was the first one running his mouth at the a&m guys.
