Expansion is coming according to a source that confirmed it to CBS sports no later than 2012. Being reported to Fox Sports....Im sure we will see more to come if this is accurate during the weeks ahead...

1/16/2010 on the "Screw at the Q" HCGM... " Ive never seen a foul parade like that...If you would of let me know it was going to be a foul parade I would of brought a different team" .... "dont talk to me about fouls....Ive got to go back and look at some tape... I have some thoughts but I need to look at the tape and then I will have something very strong to say"

Yep. Clearly this field deserved 31 more entrants.

Say goodbye to the glory days of the NCAA Tournament.

Now, anyone can play in it!

I'm not necessarily in favor of the expansion.

The glory will still be there...it's just no one will pay attention to the first round where all the mid-majors play each other like one massive play-in round. Once the field is down to the original 64 after that first round I think it will be somewhat normal.

This is a way for the committee to try and keep the "mid-majors" from complaining about the # of bids. Now plenty of mids will make the field, the problem is they will beat up and wear each other out fighting for a spot in the field of 64 while all the BCS teams get an extra day or two of rest waiting for their opponent.

Don't kid yourself about this just being for the non-BCS schools benefit for # of bids. Unless certain rules of eligibility are put into place, I bet you'll see another 12-18 BCS teams added to the field. Percentage wise, the BCS would have more teams than they do now.

You are right about the 32 1st round byes. Based on this year's seeding, I believe 24 of those spots came from BCS schools.

I think the quality MVC, MWC, CAA, WAC teams will still get there seeds they earn or close to it. ...The question will be ...this is about money and the universities presidents will be the ones driving this. Will they make enough additional money broadcasting team 68 thru 96 does it end up costing cbs or espn money.....

I like that its hard to achieve. That its a well deserved reward for a good season and a good schedule. I dont care alot for sometimes how we are treated and perceived....96 teams probably wont change that though
