Stutz mentioned that "his shooting coach" came to Wichita and helped with some things.
I hesitate to mention that because some on here will see it as a reason to question why Stutz has his own shooting coach instead of relying solely on the WSU staff and try to spin it that Stutz thinks he needs help outside of what the WSU staff can give him.
For all we know, Stutz "shooting coach" is his older brother who's playing for Washburn. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Aargh, I understand what you're saying.
You would hope that some people would have an open mind about this.
With that being said, are the coaches only allowed a certain amount of time to work with the players each week? If that is the case, I can completely understand that Garrett wants to work as hard as he needs to work to become better and he is willing to do it outside of the time that the coaches have available under NCAA rules.

Apparently Cliff Levingston was in the house on Friday and came down to congratulate the guys after their win. Awesome. MTXE karma and energy there to root us on!
I saw a picture of him on the gallery from the game on the Kansas.com website.
Very cool.

Listening to Stutz on the post game. Very well spoken young man. Very few "uhm's" and "uh's" and "most definitely's". And I'm thinking he sings bass in the church choir Very Happy
are you trying a sideways dig at clevin hannah? get over it man...talking to the media makes some people more nervous than others. when you're nervous you tend to um ah, like, and what have you.

I'm sure it was probably mentioned somewhere in this thread, but does anyone know the current status of Gabe Blair, and what the likelihood of him playing tomorrow is?KU fans are the most arrogant while KSU fans are the most delusional. ~BostonWu

HCGM mentioned Garrett's shooting coach from high school on the coaches show the other night. Used it as an example of what a great work ethic GS has, so he saw Garrett bringing this guy in as a very positive thing. He also mentioned in the coaches show that he would be ecstatic if his son grew up to be like Garret, taking away the basketball elements of GS's life.
Garrett is only going to get better and better. The Marshall Plan is slightly ahead of schedule... :good: :wsu_posters: :goshocks: :band:Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

My little view from STL.
1. I am probably the last of the crowd to be sold on Garrett. While I was never an oral naysayer, I had reservations. Not anymore.
2. I have been down on Toure' lately. He had a very nice game yesterday.
3. This comment refers to one of the refs yesterday. I hope I never see him again.
4. 20 fouls is way too many. We had 4 in the first 4 minutes.
5. Ill. State is the team I fear. It would not surprised me, if Ill. State became the champion.
6. Drake was awful."Prediction is very difficult, especially if it is about the future."

Here's the deal. After scouring last nights stat sheet, several areas became manifest and jumped out at me like 'frog-legs in a frying pan.' We can beat some folk when we only commit 10 turnovers, make 24-25 throws, keep our own fouls to a mild roar but still too many, and our favorite black and gold observation since jump street--"play the game from the inside first and work out." The Shocks were resilient to the 'forks in the road' that are bound to occur in tough games. Stutz was 'THE MAN WITH A PLAN' and the emergence of Williams at both the 1 and 2 spots has been a 'shot in our black and gold infested arms.' It was great to see Toure' get 13 points, a steal, 6 bounds, and 3 assists. The Shocks did get out rebounded by 4. I enjoyed that short span of zone that seem to confuse our opponent.
Illinois State have been "sizzlin hot" as of late. This is a game we can win by keeping our key players out of foul trouble and on the floor. Eldridge, Austin Hill, and Odiakosa are always a handful. The team that executes, concentrates, and hustles the most will win this "heavy weight slugfest." I like our chances but this game should go down to the wire!!!Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Nothing against Ill. State--they are a solid team and well coached. It's our time though.
I just hope our guys feel the same way and I think they do based on the way they are playing.
I know others have said it.... Garrett's interior D was very, very good. No one (with one exception I think in the second half) was able to get inside easily, and that's a very comforting thought looking ahead--today, tomorrow and beyond.
