That's five players named to eight spots for the Shocks.

Way to go Clevin, Toure, Gabe, Garrett, and Graham!!!

        That's awesome!

I wonder how MTXE feels about GS being on the All-Bench team.

6th man of the year and most improved player I'm guessing

              Well earned by all.

The Shocks bench was one of, if not the most productive in the league. Garrett really played well down the stretch and forced some teams to change their defenses to account for him. Blair earned his honor early in the schedule and let's hope he can overcome his injury and be a factor in the tournaments.

Clearly, the improvement of Hatch and Stutz contributed greatly to the 2nd place finish vs. the 5th place predictions.

I think this recognition shows that everyone acknowledged the fact that if the shocks had to go to the bench, they weren't gonna be affected too much by it. Now there were some other teams in the league that definitely couldn't have said that.

That's kind of what I guessed as well.

Next question: Who was the kid at Bradley that was suspended at least 2 times this season, perhaps 3?

"Sophomore Taylor Brown of Bradley and junior Lucas O'Rear of Northern Iowa headline the list of selections for the 2010 Missouri Valley Conference specialty teams for men’s basketball. Brown, a native of Atlanta, Ga., has been tabbed the conference’s Team Captain for the Most-Improved Team, while O'Rear, a native of Nashville, Ill., has been named the league’s Team Captain for the All-Bench Team."

I didn't want to wait so I confirmed my own concern.

I am glad JE was left off the first team for his mistake. I just wish we (everyone, myself included) gave more weight to doing things correctly. Not because it's our guy, but Hatch is Mr. Everything for the #2 team....Brown is a oft penalized question mark for the #5 team. Hatch is a 3rd team AA.

To me, MIPOY seems to be an easy selection between the 2.

I think Stutz definitely earned it this year, but I don't think we've seen Stutz personal most improved year yet. I think his Sr year with Orukpe as a Jr there will be a lot of national attention on WSU.

Stutz is already establishing himself as a favorite among the national announcers that covered WSU this year. Give him two more years of that type of exposure and he could be in a position to pick up some national honors.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

                              Great job guys.

If our third team Academic All American is not named the MVC's Scholar-Athlete of the Year tomorrow there is something wrong.
