I have been trying to get a copy of an old WSU Men's Hoop game (2/19/1983 @ Tulsa). The game was broadcast on TBS, which would be the only way for me to see it as I live in CT. It was a huge game for X (20 rebs. and 22 pts. as a sophomore). If anyone can provide any assistance with my quest I would be most appreciative!

If you are successful let us know. I looked for footage of games from the 60's and it was fruitless. I even contacted the opponents schools.
You might call Randy Smithson to see if he has any footage. -

How would I contact Randy Smithson? I am also hopeful that some other former players and/or their families might have a copy of the game. It was the first Shocker game I ever saw, and X has been m"my boy" ever since then!Comment

I actually have several of the Tulsa games, a TBS special on the five players of the year, X-man and anyone remember the Great Alfredrick Hughes? Part of the problem is they are on BETA, I actually have a beta machine and someday plan on transferring them over.
Got the Iowa game and battle of New Orleans also, we watched them not long ago and still fun to watch.Comment

Coping to DVD would excellent as well. Should provide inexpensive copies as well. May work better than tape to tape. A LONG time ago I did copy from Beta, but the VHS copy was not near as good as the original.Originally posted by shockballComment

No problem, working on a plan with a local teacher who has some of the better equipment. He thinks it would be best to go from Beta to DVD. Did a little more digging and found the Russia game when AC was hurt and X took over.Comment
