You have had such a strong hate towards the best all-around player on our team, due to the fact that he hasn't hit any game winning shots. This guy made honorable mention before Durley because he plays defense and was equally as good on offense. Durley doesn't play defense all the time like Toure. I've got mixed feeling on this. DUI is a serious offense than can lead to disastrous results. On the other hand you have a "kid" that made a stupid mistake. Was it an one time thing or what he regularly does and just got caught this one time? I don't know and neither do you. I don't know how well UNI investigated this and if the punishment was appropriate or they just wanted to save the basketball season.Originally posted by henrytheshock
If it was a one time stupid mistake I don't think we should wipe out everything he did on the court. Also how much can we connect athletes personal lives on their public lives? On the college level it is higher, because they are representing a school. On the professional level not at all, I don't care who is doing what as long as it doesn't affect their performance and isn't seriously illegal. Somethings require social penalties but shouldn't have any affect on the field, others are none of our &*&&^ business.
I think I'm trying to get to is if it is an one time DUI while it isn't in any way defensible and if he isn't a serial DUI and just got caught once then perhaps we don't crucify him or tar and feather him and run him out of town on a rail.Comment
