Not sure where I should make this multi-sport post, but since Men's BB is involved and is the most viewed forum I decided to post it here.
It was a very good weekend for Shocker fans:
1. Men's Basketball with one of their better efforts in pounding SIU. Coupled with UNI's win over ILS securing the #2 seed in the MVC. Shocks establish a new record going 17-0 at home becoming only the 3rd Shocker team to go undefeated at home.
2. Baseball winning 3 games with an impressive offensive display in the South Alabama Tournament. (Not sure the Shockers can return to this tournament because the N. Florida, E. Michigan and S. Alabama pitching staffs have filed assualt and battery charges against the Shocks).
3. Women's basketball picked up 2 wins to even their MVC record at 8-8 with 2 road games remaining in the regular season. They have doubled their MVC wins over the last 2 years and also set a new record with 13 wins at home.
4. The softball team went 4-1 at the UT-Arlington Tourmament and showed improved pitching allowing only 4 runs over their last 4 games. Their only loss was a tough 2-1 decision to Texas Tech.
5. A sweep of the MVC Indoor Track Championships by both the Shocker Men and the Shocker Women (another first). The men were picked 4th and the women 2nd going into the meet. Great performance by both squads. The Men were particularly impressive with their 28 point win.
6. Women's tennis knocked off K-State 4-3.
:good: :goshocks:
