I have a feeling we'll get a JUCO point guard and Hannah's minutes and productivity will be divided among them next year. At least until 1 or the other show they can be relied upon for more minutes and productivity.

I do think DW will probably get the start at PG next year just because he has experience at the D1 level. However, the minutes will be pretty even at first. If KJ can improve to give maybe even 5-10 minutes next year then I don't think we'll be hurting at point guard at all.
You know, after seeing him get some solid minutes yesterday, I am starting to believe Kenny might be a potential 3rd option for point guard. No, he's not ready to be the 2nd in line, but I saw some nice things there... I really hope he sticks it out and doesn't transfer. He's got some tremendous potential--even if he's not much of an offensive threat, his defensive presence once developed and his athleticism will give other teams fits. He had 2 steals yesterday and looked as confident as we've seen him in a long time. Give him some additional time to work on his game, and some minutes in mop up roles and maybe more and who knows? Am I the only one who saw that positive side?

      Point Guard

No one. There is one schollie open because this past fall, Johnny Coy gave up his scholardhip to concentrate on baseball.

No one, well hopefully. Coach likes 3 pgs:

        DW - 1
        Juco PG - 2
        KJ - 3

Nope, I've always liked Kenny. Just hope he's humble enough to sit back and wait for his time to come.

I believe coach has stated in the past he prefers 3 point guards.

I thought he was great yesterday. I like his game better than Kyles (no disrespect meant to DK). I like him at the 2 guard along side Hannah.

I forgot about Coy. Damn me for my disrespect in forgetting about a guy. Another post answerred my question w/o freaking out. Would it hurt to chill out a little?

We have potential at the guard positions w/ #2, #5 & #24. - hope it materializes.

In newshocks defense, that same question has been brought up at least 10 times over the past month or so.

DW has been gaining in confidence and I especially have enjoyed his versatility playing along side of #3 at times in the lineup at the SG position. It helps to have two point guards that can not only stroke the J., but also make the assist. The enigma though in my estimation is will DW be ready to assume the starting role as our point guard next Season? Most likely, a Juco point guard will be vying for this "quarterback role" which will be of essence to just how successful we will be next Season. Many have been saying for quite some time that next Season will be our Season. However, when Hannah was not playing, the Shockers faltered at times and this concern will have to be shored up. DW is a keeper and will become a solid Valley player and work hard to show improvement. However, can he make this huge leap as a Soph? I hope so. Stay tuned!!!!!!!
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
