During opponent introductions have everyone be quite except a few students with some witty signs. i.e with CLo have someone with a BASKETBALL FOR DUMMIES sign with wonderful topics such as "FROM 1st TO WORST" "TOP RECRUITING FAILURES" "THE ART OF PLAYER DEFECTIONS". Some one could have a "SAVE CLO's JOB, WE LIKE THE Ws".

You can make up witty nicknames for the players and chant that during introductions. These can be typed up on a pamplet/newsletter like U State has so everyone knows what to chant. This would be great when Coach Altman walks on the court and everyone is chanting "porn-stache" These could be chanted everytime the player touches the ball.

When we are pressing after around 6 or 7 seconds everyone chant "10,10,10,10" for a 10 second call.

I like black and yellow cards.

Chant the win total during the last minute of the game. Everyone chanting "23/24" after the SIU game.

I wonder if the desired effect of the student section moving during the free throws could be done with gloves. Each student with a black and yellow glove on.

Nothing wrong with that. Hell, I may pop in a DVD or two before the game tonight now.

            A lot of good ideas.

Unfortunately, they will also die right here unless one or more of you take the initiative and meet with WSU's administration to get the ball rolling.

You've got to get the students involved in this. But, first there needs to be some type of organization to get this started. Initially, this should possibly consist of perhaps the Athletic Department, the students, and possibly the student newspaper. Don't need to copy their yells, but check with USU about how they started their program off and how it is organized.

Perhaps there could even be some perks for coming up with the best cheers/yells/chants like a guaranteed front row seat in the student section for a selected time period. Get the Eagle to run a weekly picture and a short story on the student(s) who came up with the cheers for each home game opponent.

Make it fun for the kids and those 1,100 seats will be filled every game!

              THIS!

And be certain to include the cheer leaders. They warm up in the practice facility before the game...that could be a time for some last minute coordination.

Instead of counting dribbles and scream,l how about some noises instead (vary it each FT attempt). For example, "plop" for dribbles, "fizz" for the shot, so it becomes "plop","plop","plop", "fizz" and add "Oh, what a relief it is" on makes and just "Uh-Oh" for misses.

I'm sure you can think of other sounds to use. "ping", "drip", "eeeee".

A simple "Thank you" or "Rebound" after missed FTs might be good too, especially on the first of two attempts.

I would like to see the visiting team greeted and dismissed with a prepared cheer at every opportunity.

When they walk out to warm up they shouldn't be booed but instead something catchy and witty like "You're gonna lose...." along with the obligitory moose-like antlers out of hands wave(yes I realize that is neither catchy nor witty.....I am not the creative one here) or maybe greeting C-Lo with a "Hey hey hey.........."

You could also shower them with a "losing team" chant while pointing at them as they leave the court, right under the student's noses.....a little homage to USU without a total copy.

I like the thought process here....but it is senior night....this needs to have legs all spring, summer and fall and then introduced next season with fervor as we once again embark on a home season where we look to drink early and often from the victory chalice.

I have always thought that if we had the words to the fight song and we sang it during a late game timeout, it would sound really good. The students do a great job with the alma mater before the game so I think they would do a great job with the fight song.

Also, I like the idea of yellow and black gloves and/or yellow and black cards. That would really make the student section stand out, especially on TV.

How about everyone in CKA pointing to the visitors during timeouts, turnovers, and free throws shouting "Your're getting Shocked" over and over, and then at the end of the game shouting "You got Shocked".

I recall back in the MTXE era a chant that was pretty good. When Bradley came to town, the student section would chant "Sit down Dick" as Versace stomped along the side line. When he finally sat down, the chant changed to "Stand up Dick". Good stuff.

I also remember 4 or 5 years ago before the game while the other team was warming up, we would mock whatever warmups they were doing. It was especially fun when they would do calisthenics or other unique warmups on the court. The students could start doing that again.

The idea (especially on TV) sounds good -- but I would think this is something that could look really bad if it is not coordinated. To "try it" at a game may not be the best idea without some practice. I'm not the creative type so I'm probably not going to come up with any ideas, but I like the fact that so many are contributing their thoughts.

There's got to be one or more of you who have Wichita State connections. Now is the time to get it established for next year.

                              Get it rolling.

Football schools that had card sections had a leader with a microphone and speakers throughout the card section so step-by-step instructions could be given, heard and followed. This would require some $$$ investment and a group to be game coordinators who would pre-select the chants, distribute information and act at leader. It would be worth it, though. Obviously WSU admin and the facilities guru would need to approve and even be involved in something like this.
