Their atmosphere kicked our atmosphere's ass.

We can get quite loud, but USU was more impressive as a whole.

You can continue to be offended by the comments but they were quite accurate.
Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
    RIP Guy Always A Shocker
Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women
ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking
Wartick Insurance Agency - Saved me money with more coverage.
Save Shocker Sports - A rallying cry

Exactly. And compared to Stew, Gregg was a minor league coach.

        Unfortunately, I have to agree.

I think Marshall was spot on saying the things he did about the fans. However, he has to admit he got outcoached by a coach who is making half of his salary. If he is going to dish it out then he better be able to take it--looking forward to the coaches show this week.

It's a shame you didn't get to see the Spectrum at its best. I don't know if it was the late night or just the fact that the Aggies really weren't firing on all cylinders offensively at times combined with the fact that the game never really had than much drama score wise.

A lot can be attributed to how well the Shockers beat back potential runs. Just a really good team who will give the Aggies fits in Wichita.

In any event it was a pretty laid back crowd. La Tech and Nevada had a few good moments if you watched them on ESPN. It takes the old folks to get into it to blow the place out of the water and the Spectrum had a few hundred empty seats from Season Ticket holders who passed on the late game.

            Kind of lethargic overall.

Getting pretty sick of Marshall's excuses..complaint about booing and now this. Step up and be accountable for the way your team is playing, Greg. Don't piss and moan about a small fraction of booing fans. And if you want more than a AAA program, start recruiting better players! It's not the fans' fault.

That is scary if your crowd was lethargic! I thought they were great! Really good looking team as well; very disciplined and and in tune with coach's system.

I agree hickaggie it was kind of lethargic. Maybe everyone felt the same way I did. I was just tired. The students were loud but the regular ticket holders made little noise. Didn't need to. When the reg. ticket holders are called upon in crucial situations that's when the roof blows off the building. That's when it gets so deafening that it's almost eerily quiet and you can see the soundwaves in front of your face and the ground starts to move. When Stavon Williams hit the back to back three's last year and Brady had a blcok in between. Stavon said it got so loud that he literally got dizzy.

It was kind of a sit on your hands crowd last night.

I hope I am wrong, as I believe we are positioned to be an excellent squad next year and he would benefit greatly from sticking around at least one more season.
You're wrong, Coach Marshall does like it here. You comments are way off base.

What I'm wondering, is how you come up with "but I really get the feeling he just doesn't like it in Wichita that much and we be wanting to give openings such as St. John's, Oregon, etc. close inspection this summer."

Did you have a conversation with him about this?

Do you know his next door neighbor and did HCGM tell this to him, and he told you?

This stuff is just getting silly! Many of these comments come from AAA fans!

Here's the Nevada clip. This was the 2nd loudest I've seen the Spectrum in person. The loudest was when I have been there was when the Aggies obliterated Andrew Bogut's sweet sixteen Utes a few years back.

Stavon Williams and Brady Jardine take over the game against Nevada, this time with legit audio quality. Mark Fox made the mistake of saying he didn't believ...

Question is what that Marshall way of taking a shot at wsu fans he doesn't like or is it his complaint about the student support (and whole fanbase) or was he just trying to Give props to Utah state?
I don't know, but he could have gone without saying it.

One of these days, one of his unthoughtful remarks will get him in trouble.

Last time I checked, the AAA fans are paying his salary.
I agree with him Gregg on this one!

If you take that as a slap in the face, so be it. I'm a fan here too; I don't take it that way. Their fans, mainly the student section, were unbelievable - he was giving kudos to them. Yep, their team outperformed ours too - believe that was mentioned and obvious as well.

Seems kinda two faced on some posters part now, it's OK to bad mouth the team, the coach, saying our team sucks...then, when coach merely mentions how great their support was, possibly better than ours...we get our feelings hurt.
                          :good:

Well, I suppose I am basing it off the fact that a coach who has been here 2.5 years has recently participated in a pissing match with local media, and now has taken a quasi-confrontational attitude with the fan base. Factor in the defensive undertones and demeanor, and that's where you can guess "how I come up with" said observations.

                              post game

winning cure all ills and masks problems.

I think we are seeing a team that is regressing to it's mean.

The guys look tired so that makes the offense bog down, the rebounding on both sides has been bad and shooting has been dreadful.

GM just speaking his mind about the crowd. I agree with him. Shocker fans are solid but not spectacular. Student crowd is hit/miss.

We are fading at the worst time of the year with no feel good momentum for the mvc tourney. Remember last year? shocks pulled it together and made a nice run.

The pissing match was with one, mostly negative sports writer.....one! His comments about the fans.....he said "ours may be AAA compared to theres. Defensive undertones and demeanor comes from people questioning his abilities and his players resolve. I would be worried if he didn't respond.
