Any chance that UNI rest their starters in the ISU red game ?

Does Drake win the tie break over MSU? I would much rather get them in our first round assuming we can secure the 2 seed.

We will finish the regular conference schedule at:

                12-6

We lose at BU, win at home vs. SIU.

I would say we are pretty much a lock for the 2nd seed in the tourney. Even if we finish 0-2, there is no way ISU is going to win at NIU on senior night, and since we split with ISU, it goes to tiebreaker points, and we are way out in front of ISU in that category, so the only way we fall to the third seed is if ISU goes 2-0 and wins at NIU. And isn't Eglemonster going to back for that game?

actually if we split our 2 games, and Ill state goes 2-0 which would include a win @UNI, that would give them enough tie breaker points to overtake us.

True, but the point remains that unless ISU wins at NIU on senior night, we finish in 2nd. It all pretty much rides on that game (unless we go 2-0, and I hardly see NIU dropping it.

Unsing kenpom.com's predictor for games it gives us
55% chance of winning vs BU
79% chance of winning vs SIU

                        IL St
                        78% vs InSt
                        14% vs UNI

                        this gives us an:

87.2% chance of winning 2nd outright
1.0% chance of being the 3rd seed outright
and a 11.8% chance of being tied for 2nd

I think that with us being tied

if we go 0-2 and Il State goes (1-1) then
Il Lose at UNI WSU 2 seed
IL lose vs In St then wost case is we goto RPI to decide

if we go (1-1) and Il State goes (2-0)
If we lose to BU we are 3rd.

                        If we lose to SIU
it all depends on how BU,CU vs InSt, MSU finish

Doesn't matter all that much, does it? Regardless, we will end up on the same side as Il St, and on the opposite side from UNI.

I really hope the 6th seed trips up Illinois State in the opener at St. Louis. For some reason, they strike me as our worst matchup in the conference. Experienced, athletic slashers who can shoot coupled with strong big men.

I like our odds to beat UNI 6 times out of 10 if we played on a neutral court. I'm not sure I feel the same about the Redbirds this year.

There is a statistical and physical advantage for being the top 2 seeds in St. Louis. Playing a team that just spent their energy in a must-win game the night before does tend to favor the better seed.

And just for our team's/coach's psyche, it's probably best not to coast 0-2 into the 3rd seed spot.
