They are very good and that crowd doesn't disapoint. I see some match ups that go both ways so it very well could be a very good game. Plus they said USU has all Juniors so they should be good next year meaning the return game of the BB may actually pay off next year!

In repsone to many in this thread, those refs tonight WERE awful! I hate that more than anything. But, if I remember correctly, in BB games, the visiting team bring refs from their conference. SO I hope your refs are much better than tonights!

Don't forget that Louisiana Tech is 20-6. It's not like we were playing New Jersey Institute of Technology out there. They have two guys that will play in the NBA. Magnum Rolle is a 6'11 Center with great length and mobility. We did a good job containing the other guy, Kyle Gibson who is averaging 21 plus points per game.

The game got pretty sloppy and the officiating was atrocious but I've witnessed many sloppy Missouri Valley games as well. Your game vs. Missouri State wasn't super fluid and clean either.

Main thing is USU found a way to gut out a very hard fought game even though our shots weren't falling. I bet you'd agree that we hardly looked like the nation's leading 3 pt. shooting team nor did we look like the nation's 10th leading FG % team. Both of which we were coming into tonights game. Credit La. Tech for disrupting alot of what we like to do. Tai Wesley missed a boat load of little shots in the paint and he's usually money down there.

Also before judging our interior defense realize that Magnum Rolle, LTU's center will be playing in the NBA either next year or the year after that. Louisiana Tech is a very good team. I would rather not have to play them again this season. I've seen all of them that I need to see.

Louisiana Tech is averaging 77 pts. per game this season. We held them to 61. Not too bad. Unfortunately we didn't shoot well or we could have really made a statement to the rest of the WAC tonight.

If we play Saturday night (Sunday morning) the way we did last night, we will have our collective a$$e$ handed to us (unless we can bottle the effort we put up in the OT).

Really, 2 years? I thought the BB returns were always the next year (they have been for us). That is a shame for both programs imo. But hey, hopefully both teams do 20+ win seasons next year and the year after (and the years after that!)

The refs that work most Valley games also work Big 12 games. Since I hate them all I don't take to learning their names but I do recognize their ugly mugs when I am forced to watch B12 basketball (plus it is brought up here all the time). I swear there is some kind of MVC decree on how MVC games need to be officiated because I have seen the same crews, a few days removed from one closely called MVC game let everything fly at a B12 or B10 game.

So what I'm saying is that maybe the Saturday game not being a conference game will be opened up a bit and the guys can play and both fan bases can enjoy a good game. (Again, I was pulling for USU but surely even USU fans know the foul late in the first half on the LAT player under the basket with his feet planted that saw a USU player jump into his arms and still make the shot know that call was BS and those are the calls I hate to see.)

Both USU and LAT impressed me last night.

the ref really botched a travel, the L tech guy shot it and caught his own air ball, the USU guy never touched the ball. I think that was in a crucial part of the game too.

There was a way long list of botched calls. I recall a block call against La. Tech that should have been a charge. Also a block call against USU that should have been a charge.

I think the majority of the bad calls went against LTU but there were a few against USU that made me mad. LTU was grabbing us and holding us as our wing guys came off of screens all night long and they never called a thing. It really disrupted our timing badly. Then late in the game they called Pooh Williams for grabbing a LTU player as he was going through a screen. So inconsistent.
