The game is simply for pride for one, maybe two teams.
the game is simply for pride.....No other meaning right? Has no bearing on anything for our BB teams future this year? None...nada...nil...zippo right?

as far as wanting to bet on it...is that what this is about ....a bet? Ill bet you 20.00 and Ill take the points....and the loser donates it to Haiti relief ok

Ill bet you straight up that this game has meaning for this team for the rest of this year in whatever post season we have starting with the MVC tourney
What meaning does a non-conference game in February have with the MVC tourney?????
I understand your point...I just think a road win...being that we havent played that well on the road lately....a win against a team that loses very rarely at home .....a win against a very good opponent...would help restore some lost confidence and help this team come the mvc tournament....how measurable is that ....probably not very ...but Id say if we could win at USU then we should be able to make it to Sunday in St. Louis and then let the chips fall where they may......
1/16/2010 on the "Screw at the Q" HCGM... " Ive never seen a foul parade like that...If you would of let me know it was going to be a foul parade I would of brought a different team" .... "dont talk to me about fouls....Ive got to go back and look at some tape... I have some thoughts but I need to look at the tape and then I will have something very strong to say"

Every game is important ...Evansville Weds...then Utah St. on Saturday...if nothing else, like winning is a whole lot better than losing. :)

Yes, a win there could be a big confidence booster going into the Lou, and we would like to win it all for once in the tourney... :wsu_posters: :wsu_posters: :wsu_posters: :wsu_posters:

Apparently the team didn't get the memo last Tuesday that they were playing for something.

        Too little, too late.

        ... No really, deuces.

If we win at Utah State we will be back in the at large discussion. Maybe only the discussion, but, nevertheless. We wont be favored at Utah State, but, what should we do, lay down? I think we will win. If our guys don't think they can win these type of games, why would we be excited as fans to follow them at all? We aren't talking about playing Kentucky on their home court right now. Many other bubble teams are having issues. It may be a matter of relative performance. We need to rely only on winning the tournament but I don't understand the message of the "realists". The "realists"certainly would not have us at 21 and 6 if you had asked them before the season.

I don't agree with all of your post for obvious reasons but the part in red I agree with for sure. There's alot of teams out there that think they are out of at large contention..... but hell somebody has to go to the tournament! You can play your way back into the discussion. If anything make it more difficult for the committee to leave you out. If you quit you're making it pretty easy on the committee to make a decision. At least make them uncomfortable.

In 2006 every major media person had Utah State out unless they won the WAC tournament. I don't remember even being in the discussion. We were out. We had to beat Nevada on their home floor in the WAC championship game to get in. Nevada was ranked in the top 10 that season. We took Nevada to overtime before losing the WAC championship game. Hello NIT....... or so everyone thought.

I was on a cruise with my family in the Caribbean at the time and I remember getting online on the ship to check for brackets and I went to google and searched brackets and pulled up a bracket and was glancing through it...... really just to see all the matchups so I could fill out my bracket. I came across 5 seed Washington playing 12 seed Utah State and I my first reaction was ok I clicked on someone's mock bracket from weeks ago accidentally and I was like damn gotta find the right bracket. Then I pulled up another one and it was the same. I was in shock. Utah State actually got an at large bid that season despite NOBODY.... Not Lunatic-ardi at ESPN. NOBODY was even mentioning us as a serious bubble team.

            You just never know.

We are NOT playing for an at large - we continue play to improve the team, so as to have a better shot at the valley tournament. We also continue to play and want to win to improve as a team for next season. We don't just quit caring, because we stunk it up on Tuesday night. Never quit...

Every time you put on a uniform, you come out to win. If you don't, then you shouldn't be there. I will say that WSU will be in Logan, suited up to win this game, no matter what the outcome gives them. We play to win period.

                Enough with the whinning!

Apparently, if we are still listed in a few "ologies" we must still be "in the discussion". If we go to a solid, hard to beat at home USU listed as a "last four out" and win, and some of the other "last four ins" lose, why then don't we become a "last four in"? I'd sure say the game has some meaning!
