I believe that what someone says in the spur of the moment portrays their actual feelings, opinions etc. Then when they ruffle someone's feathers and back-pedal, it only exposes them for the ignorant, oblivious, self centered egotists that they are, and only in the interest of self preservation do they begin to apologize and seek forgiveness. Otherwisse, they could give a rat's A$$ what anyone thinks.

We lived in KC during the Roy "I'm going to UNC, I'm not going to UNC, I'm already at UNC" Williams debacle. There were a lot of KU alums that were ready to lynch him. The media wasn't kind to him, the players weren't kind, and the students were pretty well p@##ed off.

We were then in NC after he got there, and the love fest for him was enough to make a man sick. I never had much respect for him after all that. I guess I feel like he deserves what he gets.

I'm not aware of Roy ever doing this. I do know that Bill Snyder compared the pain of losing a football game to the pain he felt when his daughter died, though. Perhaps this is what you are thinking of?
