  • Let's talk about the tournament we WILL make...

Blogging the Bracket is back with NIT, CBI, and College Insider Tournament projections.

Shocks as a 4 seed? Not likely. At least a 2 seed and two home games for revenue's sake. It would be great to have UNC in the Chuck. I would love to see the reaction of Ol' Roy to that one.

Bluto: Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
    Otter: Germans?
    Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...
    [thinks hard]
Bluto: the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!
    [runs out, alone; then returns]
Bluto: What the f*** happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst. "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my a** from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this.

The NCAA owns the NIT. Revenue won't decide seed.

Please send UNC to Koch arena, that would be almost worth not going to the NCAA

I did say almost, because im basically giving up on going to the NCAA, unless we have a miracle and win in St. Louis.

I agree that our NCAA hopes are just about at nil, but that's not the point. It's really not even close. NCAA's by a long shot over ANY home NIT game.

Well! The NCAA hope will only be officially ended after we lose in St. Louis. Until then, there is still hope, though it's now very little. You guys don't trust Nostradamus?

Hey, if you're already conceding the MVC tournament to Northern Iowa, there's no point in the Shockers traveling all that way to St. Louis, they could just stay home and wait for their 2nd or 3rd tier tournament invite.

Maybe someone knocks NI out and the Shockers cruise. They play these tournaments for a reason - how many times do you see those no-name conferences get a 8-20 team into the big dance? (of course, they end up in the play-in game in Akron or opening against Kansas, but whatever...)

I'm ever hopeful that I'll be marking a bracket and putting :posterwsu: through to the sweet 16. (I never win anything.)

We beat NI convincingly at home, and then lose to them by a single possession at their place. Why do people keep insinuating we should have problem with NI?

probably because of the bad taste left over from the loss of EU. WSU could go along away in getting the fans confidence back by winning out.

Because we are 4-4 in our last 8 games and should be 3-5 if Indiana State would have been close to full strength. If we turn things around and start playing consistent we will be fine but we have been anything but consistent lately.

Or, it has less to do with UNI, and more to do with the fact we have never made the championship game in St. Louis. And it's been 20 years since the last time anywhere.

I think the longer we go without making the MVC Championship game, increases our odds of making it for that year.
