So with the Shox down tonight at halftime my son looks at me and says "Dad..I know why they're losing. You forgot to put on your lucky sweatshirt. You better hurry up and put it on." My response: "I'm not gonna put forth the effort to put it on if they don't wanna put forth the effort to play"
I always wear my sweatshirt..never fails..but for some reason I forgot today and for some reason the team forgot to show up today. I guess if I can make a mistake I should be forgiving of them to do the same. I have to keep in mind that these are young kids and kids are gonna make mistakes..its what they do. What does upset me is when I see a lack of caring.
This city breathes Shocker basketball. We buy tickets, clothes, car stickers, flags and anything else WU puts his face on. This city rallies around the history and the present of this great program. All we ask is that our team gives everything they have on the floor..night in and night out...and they do it as a team. They're isn't a much more beautiful thing to see in sports than 5 guys out on the floor all playing as a TEAM. We want to see our team care as much as we do about Shocker Basketball..to be proud of the jersey that they have on their back. And when we don't see that we get angry..and rightfully so..this is OUR team..these are our Shockers. Why aren't they giving it 100 percent? Well..the answer is..they're just kids..and they're about as a for sure thing as my lucky sweatshirt. Enjoy the ride Shocker fans. If we won every game we played and beat everyone we should..why would we need to watch? :posterwu:
