He doesn't think much of UNI does he?... They've earned their ranking but obviously he thinks very little of the Valley if our win over UNI doesn't add up to a quality win and better than TT.

I agree, we shouldnt be ranked.

But by looking at this guys votes it seems he uses votes 21-25 for those he believes deserves to be in the other receiving votes. He lists 4 teams not in the top 25. 21-WSU, 22-Siena, 23-Cornell and 24-St Mary's.

Our only Kansas voter Tom Keegan Lawrence KS Jrnl-World also has 4 teams not in the top 25 in his ballot. His highest miss he put down is #16. Wake Forest. He also missed on 21-Cornell 24-Texas A&M and 23-Va Tech. He does not list UNI in his top 25.

In my opinion the pecking order should be:

UNI might be a top 15 team...but Parrish is correct in that they lack a lot of quality wins. He certainly misses on the Shockers best win of the season over UNI. WSU should not be ranked, but we should be receiving a couple of votes.

You could do what he does with any team in the nation. Most teams have a bad loss, and it's easy to point out in a two sentence paragraph.

For example:

"Vanderbilt: There's no way Vanderbilt can be ranked in anybody's top 25, but there they are at #24 in the AP. How could anybody put them that high? They've lost at home to Western Kentucky. Western Kentucky!!! Not to mention, they lost to Georgia. This is the same Georgia that's 2-6 in the SEC and has lost 7 of 10."

At this point in the season, you could pick any of about 45 teams and make the case they shouldn't be on the bubble.

Which is precisely why we have the RPI, which may not be perfect, but helps to establish the overall quality of a team in somewhat objective terms.

They lost to DePaul (far worse than any we've had) and us and beat no one that matters (Iowa, Iowa St, BC, and us). I think a top 25 ranking is appropriate. They might be better than their ranking, but they will not be able to prove it until tournament time.

Good exposure, mediocre exposure, it's all good to me. Definitely better than no exposure. At least this article has informed some people out there that WSU is 19-5.

Overall 19-4... you can't count the loss to Pitt since Hannah didn't play. Blame that one on the moron's at the NCAA. :D

No, we shouldn't be ranked, but 21-2 is 21-2 and it's not like their SOS is that bad. You can only do what you can with the schedule in front of you. I think UNI has done that so far.

It's too bad because I liked Parrish during our run in the 2006-07.
