  • Marshall and Kyles

In the heat of the comeback last night during a timeout, Marshall was understandably excited trying to reign the troops in.

I noticed he grabbed a couple of players to pull them in close like coaches do when they are trying to get the players in tight to set some direction ... when ... Kyles ripped his arm out of coach's hand and walked out of the huddle.

He looked annoyed or pissed. What was that all about?

We don't need any headcases going into the final stretch. We have a real-deal season brewing and I would hate to see our mojo screwed up by such a talented sophomore.

Kyles seems like the 'talent' that won't to me. He has a lot of potential but does not seem to exploit that during most games. He has a decent shot, and we all know he is explosive in driving to the basket.

It just seems like he could be much more of an offensive threat during most games.

Didn't see it but I haven't witnessed or heard anything to lead me to believe that Kyles is a "headcase". With the way the game was going last night there was probably alot of frustration going around.

With that said, I was pissed at Kyles too. He forced way too much when he drew defenders and had Stutz wide open under the rim. He decided HE wanted to be the hero. I didn't care for that. But I don't think it was him being a headcase.

I still think David will be a solid contributor to the Shocks cause before his career is over. He just has too much natural talent.

May not happen, but I'm still on board thinking it will at some point. Hopefully, we start seeing it next year.

It paid off not giving up on JT and I think the same will be true for David.

Appeared to me him and Durley were getting into it a little cause Kyles missed a rebound, coaches were trying to calm everything down since all the momentum was with us.

Lets hope that today...being superbowl sunday that it provides a day for the team to get together and get past some of the bruised egos and any ill dispossitions that may be present on the team. Enjoy the win and watch the proffesionals do it today. Come together a little more and continue to build that chemistry that ultimately determines chumps from champions

I see some players getting away with more than others. Like D. Williams can play like an idiot and he stays in the game and coach doesnt say a word to him. He is on Kyles all the time.

I think that is because he expects more out of Kyles at this point. There are times when Kyles looks very smooth and fluid with the ball. It's been said a million times on here. He may be the most naturally athletic guy on the team. I think HCGM rides him the same way he rode JT for two years. If it clicks like it did with JT, watch out!

I also think that Demetric's main role is giving Clevin rest. He is not expected to contribute too much offensively. Take care of the ball, work on making good decisions (figuring out #'s 5-91!!). DK has a much bigger role on this team right now.

Durley and Ellis finally bought in to the system. I don't think DK is going to and thus probably will open up a scholarship next year. He really is an enigma. He made some bonehead plays last night, but hit a couple of shots that were big.

I was in Wichita over the weekend and went to the Heights v Kapaun game friday nite. JT and DK were there hanging out together. I spoke with both of them at half time. Seem like great young men to me. Hopefully we land a couple of the players from Heights...wow !!!

DK played a huge part in the first half Shox v Bears blowout. He was flying around on D and O. He has incredible potential. I don't think he or anyone else will transfer out. They just need to turn it on sooner rather than later.

I didn't see DK make any bonehead plays. He didn't have any turnovers in the 16 minutes he was in the game. And you can't blame him for taking a 3 when he's wide open.

... especially when coach Marshall has mentioned publicly that DK needs to shoot when he's open.

David Kyles did EXACTLY what he was told to do in shooting the open 3s last night. They are trying to build his confidence. David's main issue right now is a lack of confidence while on the floor. He gets down on himself entirely too easy and it lasts way too long.

And whomever said that Demetric is getting a pass from Gregg doesn't watch very closely.

Demetric will, in all likelihood, end the season without any measurable ass.

It has been all but chewed off to date.

Yeah there are a lot of people in the program that haven't shown out until the 3rd. or even 4th year. Graham Hatch couldn't hit the broad side of the Ocean last year. When Kyles blooms it will be awesome. Look for it before the end of this season.
