WSU vs ISU (blue) Game Thread

Did anyone else also hear Bruce say "and the Shockers come in at 17 and 4" right before the game started?

No, he didn't mention any record right before the start, but he did say 19-5 earlier in the pregame.

bruce is horrible and stevens isnt any better...bruce just pissed me off the whole night...until with about 8 minutes left I muted them and suddenly everything was rosy...wierd

bruce tries to overcompensate by being a complete non-homer b/c he went to school at wsu. craig steven pretty much does the same. personally i enjoy that aspect of the broadcasts but unfortunately neither one of them is terribly knowledgeable about anything.

I expect at least a little bit of a "homer slant" from our broadcast team. Nothing MK like, but give a little bit of leeway. It's not like their broadcasting on ESPN to a neutral audience.

i understand that. again, imo, if i wanted a homer slant on a game i would just mute the tv and listen to the radio. i love MK, but he personifies what i view as the typical wsu fan, someone always complaining about the officials and how they are out to get us. personally i think it would be great to have creighton guys announcing the games for us.

sCUm announcers? If you're talking about their radio clowns, uh hell no. They're just as big of homers as MK except during WSU broadcasts they unleash their hate for WSU.

i realize you dont want an MK slant on the game. in terms of the creighton guys, yes i would love have them announce all of the wsu games. it would be great to listen to them whine as wsu was winning games. the only part that would suck was win wsu lost. it might be unbearable.

oh come on now....every creighton possession would be a foul or some kind of wsu cheat, or missed call...every one of our possessions would be nothing but HCGM on the sidelines...no players just him...with them bagging on him the whole time....if we were winning the broadcast would end...

but it could be worse billy packard could do all of our games...

and you wouldnt love this? as long as they didnt stop broadcasting when wsu was winning i would love it. listening them whine while wsu was killing inferior non-conference opponents would be incredible, and then come conference season....

That will not happen. Since I cannot respond to every guy who pointed out my comment I will address yours.

I'm going to take my medicine like a man. When I made my post, I saw a 17 point deficit and was so mad I spilled my emotions on the keyboard. What can I say, I said what I said and now must wear the dunce cap in the corner of the room.

I cannot remember when I observed this team overcome a 17 point deficit so I chalked up the loss. I was so angry at the thought of losing to a team without 2 staters and at home I gave up, turned off the tv, took some Tylenol and went to bed.

Lesson learned, if this ever happens again, I will give us a 25 percent chance of overcoming a 17 point deficit instead of zero percent chance. :D

Hey, while at the game I was chalking this game up as a loss at about the same point as well, and, whether they posted it here or not, I'm guessing a lot of other people were too.

Mentally I knew that a comeback was possible since they had no depth, and I remembered how in Marshall's first year when we were in the same injury camp as ISU is we would build huge leads and not have the stamina to finish. Emotionally, however, I was expecting the loss with how the game was going.

Losses don't bother me as much as they bother some fans.

Even with that, somehow I was never expecting a loss. I thought the rally would come just before half-time. Then just after half-time. I was a bit dismayed by how long it took for the rally to materialize.

A lot of teams have to fight hard to win games against teams they "should" beat. Over the course of a 30+ game season, that's going to happen to every team that plays the game.
