We gave them way too many offensive rebounds with a 12-4 advantage over us. We had a chance to really gain an advantage the 2nd half when they had 10 fouls. What a big edge that could have been. All the sudden, we can't make free-throws or draw fouls much to utilize such an opportunity knocking at our door. They made their free-throws and went and got way more than their fair share of offensive rebounds. Thus, we must regroup and win out most of what we have left.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
If you work your butt off and get in the bonus with 14 minutes to go and proceed to shoot 1-8 from the line, it ain't the refs.
It's called screwing the pooch, period. 8)
Well ref not calling a obvious foul against TM cost us a chance to tie the game and gave ft's to UNI- It only takes 1 no call Period! :posterwu: 8) KMA! JA!
That's right... instead of winning the game on your own, you want the officials to help you win it.
Sounds like a typical Democrat. 8)
Every other poster on here has noted the reason for the loss was at the FT line - except you.
Pay close attention here - When you shoot 1-8 from the Ft line with the game on the line, it ain't the refs.
Repeat after me... "It ain't the refs. It aint' the refs."
Read it, learn it, know it.
No I want an obvious foul to be called! If you want to talk politics go to that forum! :posterwu: 8) 8) :posterwsu:
Above all make the right call! Where have I seen that! Live it Learn it know it! :goshocks: 8)
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
I'm very happy with our performance. We weren't firing on all cylinders yet still made it a very close ballgame. I'm not mad at coach for the T. I was very impressed with his overall management tonight.
We are going to be a handful in St. Louis
Oh, and an excellent effort by Graham Hatch tonight as well! That man really knows how to get the tough rebounds!
SR, you are out of line, just make the calls, period. We lost the game at the line, but that does not excuse the no-call.
You still can't blame the officials. I'm sure UNI can go find some no calls that probably should have been called as well that may have led to more points for them. The refs DID NOT effect the outcome of this game
How about the refs affected the outcome but not as much as our poor play did? Say 25%to 75%. Is everyone happy?
Definitely no more pressure now. Just have to win out and get to Sunday in St. Louis, or just win it all in St. Louis.
Oh well. Still better than expected season.
Definately better than we expected before the season. The problem now is that the expectations have been raised slightly throughout the season...so it makes people go crazy LOL.
I will say though, OVERALL I thought we fought pretty good tonight. Do the things we have done in almost every game prior to this one and we win. I actually feel a LITTLE better about our game against Utah St. And that would look just about as good as a win tonight would have. The boys at least know they can hang with a good team on the road.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!
I am not an official. We have no one to blame but ourselves. HOWEVER, if the officials are not going to make that call with ten seconds left, they should go ahead and hit the showers prior to the final buzzer. Yes, I'm upset. No, I did not blame the officials. Just do the job you get paid to do for the whole 40 min. The end.
Shockerfan your posts are all just crap spewing prolifically
So don't read them??? ****ing moron!

It was a good game and a very tough loss for us. The refs didn't cost us this one, we did. We lose by 3 and the way shot from the line and the T against Marshall didn't help. Now its important to take care of biz and sew up 2nd place and go play it out in STL. It would be nice to win a big game on the road. Utah State gives us another opportunity. 19-5 is still a great record. Win out in the valley and that would be great.
Unfortunately shockerfan, "hanging with good teams on the road" doesn't make you an NCAA tournament team, and that is the ultimate goal, particularly if you have such a weak non-con schedule like ours.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Graham's the man. For the first time we agree! ;-)
The main concern is a drain emotionally and bouncing back. Time for some home cooking to make them at least temporarily forget about all this.
The pack is right behind us, we could easily get pulled into the morass if we don't handle our business down the stretch.
We could end up fourth (or worse.) I don't expect this to happen, however. I hope the team has to watch game film (video) with Bobby Knight pointing out all their errors in his "gentle" manner.
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful: Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.
