    BYU is a Class Act

    This took place at a football game, but it could just as easily apply to all sports. Perhaps we as fans could all learn a lesson from this regardless of our opponent (except maybe CU).

    Just prior to the start of the Air Force-BYU football game, Sept. 22, 2009, this video was broadcast in the BYU stadium in Provo, Utah. Later, the USAF Academy Superintendent, LtGen Gould, showed this clip to the faculty and staff. He told everyone that BYU ran it minutes before the kickoff at the game. He was clearly moved by it, as were those who watched it.

      Very well done. I am very proud of the relationship KSU athletics has with Fort Riley. At the Fort Riley Day football game this year they ran the names of all the KIA for the Fort Riley personnel since the previous year's game as the band played taps and all present soldiers stood on the field. 50K in attendance and you could have heard a pin drop. Their were about 500 soldiers at GameDay yesterday at the Bram and they had a blast. God Bless them and all they do to keep us safe.

        I was stationed at Fort Riley once upon a time. The city of Manhattan and KSU can kiss my @#$%%. They did everything they could to discourage U.S. soldier from living in their town to the point of discrimination.

              Maybe that is just one of the reasons why BYU is getting Jake Heaps, the top High School Quarterback in the country next year. (Per Parade magazine in Sunday paper).

                  Cudos to BYU!

                  Seems like every community has their issues with the military establisment based near or in thier towns...unless the local economy is down or there is a war being fought....then the kids you see walking around town are the ones on the news that are losing thier lives......then we all understand we all need each other again

                        Yes it's 180 degrees from the way it was when I was in school in the 70's. Doesn't make up for what happened then but the University and city have a great relationship with the Fort now. It would be great to see WSU do something with McConnell.

                          When I was in the Army stationed at Ft. Riley living in Manhattan I had no problems with the locals or KSU students, been over 30 years though.
