What the hell is the "Octagon of Doom?" Surely they don't meen Bramlage Mausoleum? It gets a FRONT PAGE mention on ESPN.com, even though it's made absolutely NO difference when KU has come to town.

It's a strange coincidence that this is the very first time I've ever heard that title, and earlier this week Mid-Majority gave the Roundhouse pretty much the highest praise that anyone could. My folks live a half-hour away from Silo Tech and I've never heard of this.

Actually, given their theiving of the 'left, right' chant, I'm surprised they didn't just decide to call it the Roundhouse. I guess somebody there actually passed Geometry.

It's like who's more annoying, Old Money or New Money. Old Money is KU: Looking down their nose, reveling in their status and their connections, splashing you when they drive by in their Mercedes. New Money is K-State: Still looking down their nose, but laughing while they do it, thumping their chests to prove to themselves that they've always been upper-class, splashing you when they drive by in their BMW and then flipping you off afterward.

That's correct, Allen Fieldhouse West was the only nickname it had until this year...it won't be the Octo Doom for very long...

K-Staters don't own BMWs, or look down their nose at anyone, and they certainly can't be identified as "new money." K-Staters fall into either one of two categories:
1. They are happy at Silo Tech, know their place in the world, and have a good time. This is the silent majority.
2. They have a huge inferiority complex regarding KU and have anxiety about WSU getting more attention than K-State. These are the EMAWs of the world.

K-State has a pretty good basketball team this year and if they get a good bracket could make it to the S16 or E8.

I've been to one game at Bramlage, and it was dead, dead, dead. I do like the way they have the students on the side in contrast to the ends, and the students do have some pretty entertaining chants.

I kind of like seeing the 3rd D1 university in Kansas have a decent basketball team, and look forward to KU crushing them.

Actually, a few years back, someone named it that, but Doug Gottlieb has been shamelessly pimping that nickname recently...who KNEW he had such power? :D
