Official 2010 Maui Invitational Thread

Sorry...but I can't wait...I haven't given up on this season at all, but just excited about the opportunity to play in the premier preseason tournament next year. My wife couldn’t careless, but she is happy to be going on a vacation to Maui.

Who’s all planning on making the trip? We’ve got 9 in our group (so far), got it booked a couple weeks ago…did I say I can’t wait?

Did you come up with your own accomodations, or go through and agency? When I checked several weeks ago, that Oahu travel that is advertised in the game programs didn't have any of the 2010 Invitational packages put together yet. Do you have air tks yet? They were over I think $600 for that time period last I checked.

We have 2 couples going. Years ago, it was a choice of a trip to Hawaii or remodeling the house. Remodeling won out, but this time it will be Hawaii.

No travel agency, we booked it ourselves. We are staying at a beach front condo resort in Kaanapali, which is just about 3 miles north of where the games are going to be played in Lahaina. We're doing 2 couples per 2 bedroom condo...breaks down to about $960 a person for 8 days, flight, condo and rental car.

Oahu Travel does have their packages, although they are quite pricey. Below I provided the link to their flyer, keep in mind you'll have to book airfare separately and that will run $700 - $1200 per person depending on the dates you choose to fly. They are for 5 nights and game tickets.

Wichita State is currently working on their package, although it will most likely be priced similarly to the one Oahu Travel has put together. As for tournament tickets, they start at around $300, that gets you into WSU's 3 games and that's it. We'll probably have several wives sitting out the games, they'd prefer to spend $300 shopping or just relax on the beach.

Wife and I are going....probably will book separetely but waiting to see the WSU package...we want to stay at least six nights....I have heard that tickets are not now being sold separetly from travel packages at this time....that you have to wait and get them later or buy the more expensive package....Is this true?....any info on when the tickets will come available?

Is there a particular reason you and your wife are booking separatly? I know some single guys who are going who might be interested. :D

As for tickets, you're right, you can't get tickets outside of the packaged deals yet. The tournament releases tickets in August I think, but WSU will have tickets before then. WSU will likely be taking orders this spring/summer in the standard priority order that they always use. However I've been told by fans of other schools that have gone in years past that you can even go without tickets and buy them at the door or from scalpers with no problems.
