  • Wish we had a slasher

Not sure why we don't. I thought KM would be that kind of player. He isn't playing so he must not be coming around.Yet. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. DK has the talent, athleticism and quickness...but he's not slashing to the basket. TM doesn't seem to have the temperment.......All these players seemed to be players that could but are not doing it...so we have trouble guarding the dribble drivers, perhaps partly because we don't have any to practice against....at any rate it surprises me that our athletes aren't better at it

Actually, I think we do have plenty of slashers on this team. The problem is that because of this, we see a lot of zone defenses out of opposing teams to try to take it away and make us shoot jump shots. Nonetheless, Toure' has done a good job getting to the basket a number of times this year (far better than last year).

I wish we could stop the other team's slasher. We get into foul trouble faster than anybody because our defense can't stop these guys.

Our help defense just isn't very good. That is one glaring difference I've noticed between us and our Valley counterparts. That's why we seem to get called for more charging fouls and give up more easy points than our opponents.

I think we could use him on D. Who'd have the guts to take it at him? And if they did they wouldn't have them for long...

The officials would be constantly sending FK to the bench due to getting bloody. Hence, we would never be able to get into any kind of offensive flow. That, and he's a turnover waiting to happen. He's a horrible ball-handler.

I think this is also where having EO could really help us next year. Given how hard we pressure, we are going to give up some drives to the basket and our bigs will not always have enough time to get into position to take a charge. Having a true shot blocker could be really valuable in those situations, since you can get there a little late and still contest the shot after it has been released. Right now we don't have that.

Not every defensive system needs a big time shot-blocker, but it really helps cover the weaknesses of a high pressure defense.

I wish our guys learned how to take a charge.

I wish we could get Hannah to the line more. He is the #1 FT% shooter in the country...with like 58 attempts. Most of the other guys have close to 100 attempts.

Know how to get Hannah to the line more?

                        Have him transfer to Creighton.

DK and KM SHOULD be our slashers extrodinaire! We need to give them the ball and send them into the paint to see what happens. Of course, both of them suck at the FT stripe.

Does Tory Joyner have any eligibility left? I once heard he was a slasher.
