Agreed ... assuming as a bare minimum we finish second to UNI and they win the tournament and our RPI gets back under 50 (52 as of Sunday).

I just have to believe the Valley gets two in this year.

I never really expected the NCAA this year unless we happen to win it all at St. Louis, which we could very well do. Unless everything falls apart we won't play on Thursday.

I think HCGM is doing a fine job. We are showing growth year to year and I really expected next year to be the year when everything finally came together. But Hannah is more than an assist man, Hatch is more than a zone breaker that maybe should give up his scholarship for a more athletic guard. Durlay is not longer lazy and not as much of a liability on the defensive end and Stutz can be an effective sub in the post

We may still make some noise this year, but I'm looking forward to next year if HCGM can find a replacement for Hannah, or maybe we have him and if just hasn't clicked yet?

Number of wins don't really matter if those wins don't include enough good wins to offset bad losses. Last year Creighton had 25 wins, including UNI, New Mexico, St. Joseph's, Dayton, Fresno State and George Mason. That wasn't enough to offset losses to Ark-PB, Nebraska and Drake.

As for the last 10 games, yes, that is a factor but just one of many. If it comes down to us vs. someone else, those 10 games may tip the scales. It's not something to hang your hat on.

Let's face it, our OOC didn't do us the favors we hoped it would. If TTech finishes in the bottom half of the B12 it will be just another win, as it should be.

That's not true. First of all, the committee changed the number to last 12 for last year. Then, after last year, the committee decided to do away with this component all together (although I can't honestly remember if that change takes place for this year or the next).

The verbalized reason for the removal of the last 10/12 component was that "it was not being used properly." Of course, that doesn't make sense since the committee is in charge of interpreting its own rules, so there should be no such improper use. The real reason for the change, IMO, is that BCS schools thought it favored mid-majors (they believe, right or wrong, that it is easier from mids to go on a run in their conference than it is for BCSers).

Lunardi must be a nut or the quality of play in college basketball is down a bit this year:

Look over to the right side of the Bracketology page:

Visit ESPN for live scores, highlights and sports news. Stream exclusive games on ESPN+ and play fantasy sports.

                        6th team out?

                        ... No really, deuces.

On the bubble. Lunardi usually has it right. I posted a topic earlier, but I think we need Northern Iowa to win this week. Feb 3 would then give this team hope for the dance. That is if we hold serve this week.
