Maybe because you said Drake was better? Drake was better today, but give us 10 game at Drake and we might win 3 or 4. Give us 10 game at home against Drake and it might be 10 blowouts.
Drake IS the better team right now. Fact - Drake has won 5 in a row, and most by double digits. We, on the other hand, have lost 2 of our last 3. And the 2 losses were to teams we blew out previously.

Of course we are the more talented team with much higher upside, but on the court is where it matters and Drake is playing better than maybe anyone in the Valley. geeesh

We still haven't quite figured out how to handle ourselves on the road, to do the little things that champions do. We weren't even close to doing the little things today. Hopefully we'll figure it out soon and this team will gel down the stretch.

How is this an anti-team thread? It's a conclusion based on the schedule, results of this game and others, and performance of other teams.

Seriously, dude. Walk away and get your perspective back.
      +1000.

We aren't an at-large team. It is impossible. Even if you think we can win the rest of our games, we aren't an at-large team.

      Sorry. Get a grip.
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

Oh well, it was a pipe dream anyway. Another year of steady improvement by the Shox however. Last year CBE, this year hello NIT. Perhaps next season we take the next step and get to the NCAA's and learn to win more on the road.

So far we are 2 (wins) out of 5 road tests. Three more to come (@ SIU, UNI and BU). We definitely didn't do well on the road. :(

Before comparing us to '09 Creighton, remember that Bluejays team had an RPI in the 70s. Ours was 44 going into Saturday.

I agree our at-large chances took a hit today, but it's way to early to flush them completely. Still got 10 games, plus the Valley Tournament.

It is entirely possible that this team goes 0-3 the next three games. We all know our success at SIU is on par as playing at Creighton and I doubt anyone here will predict a win at UNI.

before the loss to creighton we were a possible at large team, after the loss to drake the only chance we have is winning out the regular season, or at the minimum losing one more but beating uni.

Let's get real here. We had/have only two chances of making the tournament.

Win the Valley regular season championship.

                    Win the tournament.

At best the Valley gets two teams in. If we win the regular season crown, that means we finished strong and a good performance in St. Louis would be enough, but not a guarantee.

Given the declining number of at-large bids to the Dance since 2006, the margin for error for all teams is near zero. Unless the BCS Conferences go into mass meltdown, the trend will not reverse itself.

                    :goshocks: :goshocks: :drum:

No reason to be happy about yesterday, but no reason to declare doom and gloom either. Just take off the rose colored glasses and see things for what they are. And enjoy the resat of a great (so far) season.

This loss to Drake was not good. However, the NCAA selection committe looks at your last 10 games when chosing teams. If we win out (a big if) and are in the champion ship game of the MVC, we would still have a shot.

I never liked leaving it up to chance anways. As long as we keep winning at home and pick up as many on the road as possible we should be in good shape to make a nice run in St. Louis as the 2 seed. Beat UNI on March 7 and let them sweat out Selection Sunday.

This was a disappointing loss even when you consider how well Drake is playing. In my mind we are the better team but this game our effort was poor. That being said this team still has everything to play for this season which I'm sure they all know.

I have to say that I don't have anything against K-State in basketball, in fact I like watching them play and their team reminds me a bit of ours, but watching them lose afterward made me feel a lot better. Texas too. Just shows even the best teams have bad days.

Seriously? I don't recall K-Suck and Texas losing to below .500 teams like we did yesterday on their bad days. Losing to teams like UConn and OK State is easier to swallow than freakin' Drake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are very few games we are going to win when three of our four bigs (Blair, Stutz, and Ellis) score 4 total points!

Similar situation for the CU game as well.
