  • Good Bye At-Large

and good-bye to our chances of playing Butler in Bracketbusters.

Hats off to Drake. Drake is a better team than us right now. I guess we thought we could just show up and win. Worst defensive effort of the year.

What did I say that was incorrect Ben? Has nothing to do with "bandwagon."

Ben, step away from the computer, go take a walk and come back later. When you're attacking our own for no apparent reason, it's time to take a break.

I agree with Hurley. Our at-large chances are swirling the drain. The only thing that may help is if Drake goes on a crazy win streak, the fact this was a road game and a lot of help from other "bubble" teams.

But to be honest, there's too much season left to have much hope in those things.

Yeah, hopefully Drake will keep winning now so that their RPI improves enough to make this loss not so "bad"

Seems every time the team loses their`s people that have to start new anti-team threads.

Maybe because you said Drake was better? Drake was better today, but give us 10 game at Drake and we might win 3 or 4. Give us 10 game at home against Drake and it might be 10 blowouts.

To get an at-large, we need to run the table and lose in the finals at the Loo.

How is this an anti-team thread? It's a conclusion based on the schedule, results of this game and others, and performance of other teams.

Seriously, dude. Walk away and get your perspective back.

I don't think this is a 'hating' thread. Just a thread posted by a frustrated fan. Probably true though. It always hurts when you surrender some of your own ability to control your destiny.

All is definitely not lost, and hopefully we will start a new winning streak that will last many games starting on Wed.

To be honest our at large chances were really slim from the beginning. Our non con was way to weak, and we had no room for error. The Valley is too good to just strut through with a relatively young team and expect to go 14-4 or 15-3. I think we are better than Drake, I think we can be the best team in the conference. Drake was on a hott streak, we weren't ready to deal with that today, and unfortunately Drake will not get credit for the way they are playing, therefore it looks like a horrible loss and we have no good wins to counter act it.

It's unfortunate but thats the way it works. If we win out... (probably not going to happen.) We could have a shot again. But I like our chances in St. Louis. We are streaky, and due.

I just think we need to have more games, against better teams, that way when conference comes around, if we drop two or three road games it won't dash all chances of an at-large.

This. Maybe one more road loss if UNI goes cold and we end up winning the regular season valley title with 5 loses. MAYBE.

uggh, we were never gonna get a at large anyways, Creighton didnt get one last year with 26 wins, and our non conference schedule is terrible.

Not every loss, just losses to Drake. Every loss up to this one made our margin for error slim. This loss, given our margin of error, puts our chances very low for an at large bid.

And honestly, teams deserving of at large bids don't go in and lose to Drake. Marginal mid level BCS schools that get at-large bids, don't lose to Drake. That is a fact.
