In 2010-2011 maybe. Very very strong possibility in 2011-2012.

the year is not over yet....of the hour? of the day? of the week? ....nah not even player of the week..but I would guess thats what your getting at
1/16/2010 on the "Screw at the Q" HCGM... " Ive never seen a foul parade like that...If you would of let me know it was going to be a foul parade I would of brought a different team" .... "dont talk to me about fouls....Ive got to go back and look at some tape... I have some thoughts but I need to look at the tape and then I will have something very strong to say"

No reason calling him out today, when the whole team sucked just as bad if not worse, other than Clevin.

He just needs to figure out that he has a height and weight and length advantage over most guarding him and quit playing like a 5-11 white guy with short arms.

There's still a lot of basketball to play, but even before today I wouldn't have predicted he would be Valley POY. I assume Fever's talking about that.

For my part, I though he played ok today. Just ok, but we needed more than that from more than just him. He's a fine player and is only a sophomore.

It is possible and other than UNI we have as good a chance as anyone else at this time...

Toure' needs to get his outside shot back. We need that from him. He does a lot of things well, but no, he's not living up to the preseason hype.

I'm not just talking about today, although you can add it to the list. It's been going for a while. The 1 on 1 play, the extremely difficult shots that turn into wasted possessions, the outside shooting that isn't even close to going in.

I like the kid's ability, but he has regressed a lot since last year. Call it a sophomore slump if you want, but you can't tell me that you want it in it his hands at the end of the game vs. somebody else. He just doesn't have it right now and it's getting hard to watch.

Anybody know what his FG% is right now?

actually Toure has improved on every single part of his game.

Wow, those are numbing stats. Call me clueless then.

Maybe it just seems he isn't clicking like he was last year or some of his turnovers are occurring at critical times now, or whatever.

I honestly am shocked that he scored 15 today. Quietest 15 I've ever seen.

                      I apologize.

Again, my frustration is he could absolutely dominate most who guard him if he took advantage of his size and strength more. Maybe its our coaches fault for not running more plays exploiting the opponents, I don't know.
Right now, he is our best option for PG next year, which could totally change our offense.

Sophomore - no way should he be expected to be player of the year - not even for the Shocks.

I am completely satisfied with Toure's skill set as a sophomore, I think he is going to be a tremendous asset for the next 2 years, and I say that from the standpoint of someone who was always dubious about Ogirri's total contribution to the team.

I also love the fact that Toure is so calm and collected that he appears to be able to take a nap at any time, even in the biggest crunch time situations.

HOWEVER - I played 2 guard, I've played against a lot of D3, NAIA, and D1 two guards, and one thing that a two guard HAS to deliver is an ability to hit 75% of his uncontested 15 foot jumpers. Toure isn't doing that yet. It's non-negotiable, and what is frustrating to me is that it should be so much easier for Toure than other players because he is so good and naturally inclined at creating the biggest advantage for a shooting guard - creating space.

What I hope and expect is that he will tap into his potential further and become the assassin that he can be, slashing and nailing the vast majority of his short jumpers.

His D, passing, and team concept are already there. If he adopts an MJ or Kobe type of offseason focus where he's shooting 1000s of jumpers per day... the sky is the limit.

What did I miss? TM PoY? I know we've talked about Clevin, but when Murry? Clevin is far and away a much better candidate for PoY, whether its for the Valley or of our team.
