  • Nice article on Coach Boyle and

    his program.

GREELEY — Tad Boyle will never, ever forget the final ranking of his first college basketball team. He couldn`t if he tried — and truth be told, he doesn`t want to forget. It`s a remind…

Good article indeed. I like Tad's comment about how the longer he coaches, the more of a premium he puts on character. Funny how that works.

Tad's done a great job and I suspect he's not done. NCU won't hang on to him much longer, I think. He will leave the program in much better shape than he found it because he is not looking for his next job.

He learned a lot from Mark, in more ways than one.

In my opinion, Tad was the key to the success the Shockers had under Turgeon. He was the recruiter that got the key players, Burns, Miller, PJ, Matt, Ogirri, Kampman, etc.

Turgeon himself mentioned how important Tad was, so I agree. He was also instrumental in the development of our post players.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

I'm not sure we ever replaced Tad for the big guys since he left.

"And, I do know that too many coaches are so worried about their next step, they don`t give their full attention to their current positions. I`ll never do that."
            Hmmm....interesting.

How's Coop dong in his new gig (probably too early to tell).

I think Tad has to be at the top of any list the next time we find ourselves in the coaching market.

Struggling early. I watched them the other night. He had some athletic talent but they weren't very good as a team.

                So far 4-16.
