Re: Words of Gov. Parkinson
"Every minute the legislature spends on this issue is one minute they can't spend messing something else up."
Well said, Aargh. The notion that legislatures spend all their time solving critical problems that only they can handle is foolish, and certainly not one that our country's founders would have accepted.
Who plays whom in basketball may be trivial in the larger scheme of things, but at least it's harmless, which certainly can't be said for everything else the Kansas legislature works on -- and don't get us started on what the legislative clowns in Washington do with their time.

I like to mostly stay away from these conversations as I acknowledge my unhealthy hatred for the U of Entitlement.
What I want to see is a more challenging schedule, period. I don't care who we play. But I want to compete against programs that want to compete against us and where there is a mutual respect.
All I will say is this......someday we'll meet in the tournament (again) and those people (you know who you are) should hope and wish that the outcome isn't similar as in past years, so as to borrow a line from the genius Rev. Wright....those chickens are going to come home to roost.
Billboards will be babyshat compared to the response you'll see then.

“I would hope they'd both be healthy and no one would get hurt, and I really wouldn't care who won," he said. “Then after the game, I hope both of their athletic directors would have the courage to schedule a Wichita State game, and then I'd root for Wichita State."Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

In the Wichita Eagle article about the same speaking event, someone in the crowd asked him if he had changed his mind and was considering a run for a full term next election. His response was "No comment."
This is different from his previous responses to the same question, which were always an emphatic "NO"That rug really tied the room together.
