This isn't meant to be putting Marshall in a bad light, but I can definitely see where the hate comes from. I love the guy and wouldn't want anyone else coaching the team though.
its funny, when we were leaving from the game last saturday heading back home, we listen to CU little post game call in shows, prolly over 80% of the calls were about how much they depise Gregg Marshall. Kind of funny, after a win over the 2nd place team in the valley is our coach.
Is this an actual "article" or is it just a thread?
It was a thread, ironically about how much Gregg "whines".
Any school with Altman as coach that complains about a coach whining to the refs has got to be kidding. At least Gregg has never incited the crowd to throw things at the refs over a call he didn't like. Ask sCUm fans if they can say the same about Altman.

I'm really out of it. I watch the game, not the sideline antics unless there is a time out. I guess the next game I DVR, I'll just watch Gregg so I can catch all this "whinning" and "yelling at officials" he is doing. Actually, if he is yelling at the officials as much as CU fans seem to think he is, he should be leaps and bounds ahead of DA in the technical foul department.

I'm with you. I know he's animated, but it appears to me that most of the time, he's tyring to get the attention of his team. You know--coaching, calling plays, substituting, etc.
But when he (and the other 10,500 of us) sees something blatantly missed by the zebras, I have every confidence that Coach Marshall will let them know.
At the Chuck because we fans are quite contrary and get really noisy and irritating at times, he has to yell to make himself heard -- whether it's to the team or the officials. You have to yell most of the time in order to talk to officials no matter where you are playing. The Chuck is always noisy and if we're on the road, the opposing fans are jeering and yelling at GM because he is trying to make his point with the officials and has to yell to be heard so it looks like he is complaining.
Something CU fans haven't figured out yet -- Gregg doesn't whine. When he has a point to make to the official, he makes it. He stands right there and faces the official and makes his point.
I give up. No matter what he does, Gregg won't ever win with CU fans -- and it all started with MattyPooDung and his infamous "interview" of GM. Of course, Altman doesn't care for GM and vice versa, so it's natural that the fans of both teams don't like the respective coaches. Except WSU has had LONGER to dislike DA than the CU fans have with Gregg. Between the two, I would take Gregg Marshall any minute, day, week or month of the year over Mr. Dean of the Valley Altman. (And the "Dean" is not anything but an acknowledgement of his length of time at CU).
The sCUmmies are used to boring old Dana and when somebody lively graces the sidelines, they are flabbergasted by it, and immediately call it as "whining". They have no idea what passion is anymore as I believe Diana has reached her prime.
Kinda funny. It appears sCUm fans watch our head coach more than they watch their own basketball team in a game.
And finally, Diana is one of the biggest whiners in this league. His whiny face is edged into my brain for all of the crying he does. They need to look at their own convictions before calling out others..
Technical Foul Count This Year:
Marshall - 0
Diana - 1
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Guess the Husker football fans can't stand to watch their own team play pathetic basketball that they have resorted to just watching sideline antics for 40 mins. After seeing their team play a few times, it probably is quite a bit more enjoyable than watching their team play.....
