It is less than a 6 hour drive to Des Moines. Intersate 35 all the way. The Nap center is easy to find. Take a right on I-235, go a few miles, and then take a left.

DUBulldog will buy you all the beer you can drink at a joint called the West End. It is such an easy drive. I think I just talked myself into it.
In my group there will be 8 of us making the trip up to Des Moines. We plan on hitting the West End as close to 11:00am as possible.
You'll see a lot of ValleyTalk people in there....some of the WSU fans' favorites like McBulldog and Dawg_Tired might even be there.

Shockball can tell you that it's an extremely classy place. :good: Expect to see you there Shockball.

SpanglerFan316......you haven't heard loud until you've sat next to McBull for a game. And that's just his gas.
Sounds like a good time. As long as the beer is cold I will be happy because I'm definately going to need a beer when I arrive since our group is planning on leaving a little before 6:00 on Saturday morning.

We'll be making the trip over from Omaha on Saturday morning.

Thanks for posting the TV listings, too - we just added another watch party for here in Omaha (Ill. St. game).

Des Moines is a lovely place, up until three or four years ago I made the trip at least once a month for my National Guard unit which was based at Camp Dodge. If you saw low flying aircraft & men falling from the sky that was us. RLTW!

God's speed & safe travels to all Shocker & Bulldog fans making the journey.

          Go Shocks!!!!

Have a friend who lives in Des Moines. They had an ice storm yesterday and power is still out in a lot of areas. Freezing drizzle predicted for this weekend. Not nice weather for our guys to have to fly into.

Freezing rain is pretty much done for now. Roads aren't bad at all. A few isolated areass without power, but shouldn't be a problem by Saturday. Ice will melt all day Friday (lows will be above freezing) and Saturday is predicted as low 40s and rain.

The West End is actually a block east of the Nap Center. The original Native American name for the establishment is "West End of East Bound Horse." The name has changed but the ambiance has not.

I think that's still the official name, but because of Des Moines' sign ordinance, all they can fit on the sign is the "West End".

Definitely don't go there for the ambience.....although it's not any worse than some of the Wichita establishments you took me to. Gotta love dive bars.

I knew he'd like Kirby's. He kept asking to go to a trailer park.
