  • One thing we havent had in years past Re: NCAA At-Large

    0 Bad losses

    RPI rank of losses
    #7 Pitt
    #120 @ Ill St
    #127 @ CU

You gotta think that Ill St and CU will likely finish higher in the RPI than they are currently as well

Contrast this to 2005 where we were #44 (close to where we are now) and left out
    RPI losses over #150
    #187 Manhattan
    #216 @ Indiana St
    #154 @ Bradley

Even though there is a long way to go, this might be a contributing factor if we can keep from losing to any RPI stinkers the rest of the way...

    That is a good point.

The thing to remember about RPI is that our own ranking is insignificant. What matters is the RPI's of our opponents, getting "good" wins and avoiding "bad" losses.

What would be good wins at this point? I know UNI is but I haven't seen RPIs in a while and I don't feel like looking them up right now.

        Just a guess...the Bracketbuster game?

If a good win is defined as top 50, we have one - UNI.

Unless we beat them again on the road, the BracketBuster will likely be our only other opportunity.

Let us not be too hasty. The Shocks have at least 12 games left in the season. Not a single game left on the schedule is a "gimme".

            Just win.

              Drake

Definitely important for the Shocks not to get ahead of themselves.

Drake is currently 200+ in the RPI (although I think that will improve, but probably not to better than 150th), and the way they're playing right now, they could be very tough in Des Moines. If the Shocks lose there, it pretty much undoes all the good the UNI win here accomplished.

Let's win the rest of our games and then worry about comparitive RPI and other adavanced calculus for our seeding, since we will have won the tournament.

Anytime we lose to Creighton it is a bad loss. :)
