  • A look at the future

I know this season s just about on us, but I took a look down the road.

We've already seen that Marshall is an unbelievable recruiter based on what he brought in after he arrived in April. If Stutz signs - and that's a big "IF" - here's what the '09-'10 team looks like. I think it's legitimate to look at that because that's about when Marshall is going to have the proverbial "his own recruits" in place.

    PG - Mekel - 6'4" Sr
    SG - Hawkins 6'5" Sr
    SF - Ellis - 6'9" Jr
    PF - Stutz - 7'1" So
    C - Orukpe - 7'0" Jr

That appears to be what Marshall is working for. Right now it's only missing a PF. I'm not saying it's going to happen, but it's a potential Marshall seems to be working on putting in place at WSU.

I'm pretty encouraged by the direction Marshall is taking on putting "his recruits" in place. That potential team wouldn't look undersized in the NCAA's.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I think a stud PF is in the works. Isn't it about time that AC Flora sends us another PF. Preferrably one closer to the X McDaniel mold as opposed to the John Smith mold.

And to hope a little more, how about a 6'8" FR SF with Shocker basketball in his blood coming off the bench :D

Marshall said they are targeting future guards so obviously he feels he has the bigs covered.

Do you know what I like about this thread? We have not even won an official game this year----we know our work is cut out for us--when this Season ends, we lose MB, PJ, and PT, and that is a hit-----but----hold the phone------CAN U HEAR ME KNOW?

Here's the deal!!! We have ample reason to look into the crystal ball of our future---and be pumped up---because we have the right Coach---he has already proven he can recruit solid players to 21st and Hillside-----and we have some heavy artillery incoming by way of guards---and Coach Marshall can and will get this inside game and Program shored up and running on all cylinders--in due time. Can you imagine having a strong inside game with a quality group of inside subs also, off the bench, to call upon?

                        The Blueprint is drawing nigh---our future is bright---and FSF likes it---I like it alot!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D Reply #11

That's more like the late 90's early 00's Spurs with Duncan and Robinson 6'11"+ and Sean Elliott at 6'9"
