  • Two things about tonight's game

    1. The American Red Cross will have representatives there, taking donations for their relief efforts in Haiti and elsewhere. I strongly encourage the Shockernet faithful to dip into their wallets and, if you don't already, roll up your sleeves and donate blood. You can donate up to six times a year, I believe.

    2. It was mentioned before but I'm going to do it again: Kyle Whelliston, founder of the Mid-Majority website and a fine, fine sportswriter will be in attendance tonight. If you see him and you dig his websites (he also runs the Basketball State website) tell him so. He'll appreciate it.

Okay, those of you that give blood don't have to stand up all game. The rest however... ;)

That could get you kicked out if you're viewing a game at Southern Cal...

Its a good thing beer isn't served, because giving blood and drinking doesn't mix well! Or too well...

I wonder how Hockey would act if he gave blood then we had him guzzle a big sugary soft drink? He might start speaking in tongues...

Will they be accepting blood or $ or both?

I doubt they'll have a Bloodmobile there, but they might take appointments. They'll definitely be taking money.

Donating blood during a Shocker game is probably a bad idea anyway, especially if they have the game running through the bus radio. Lots of inadvertent needle pulls, and blood pressure readings would be erratic at best.

They were also collecting at the Creighton game....it severely pained me to get money out of my wallet and hand it to a volunteer wearing a Creighton shirt...
